Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Any of you guys taken out a warranty on you 1*2's? Would you recommend any?

Same question just asked over on CS.

The result was that it's a bit pointless as most of the major stuff isn't covered. As long as the belts/pumps are changed it should be fine and just general things should be replaced due to wear and tear.

I haven't looked into anything myself but from going through the history of my recently brought 182 the only major work it needed was the front wishbones replacing due to some perished rubber which was around £250-300.

I haven't a clue about warranties sorry. So I guess it depends how comprehensive they are.

not sure ive seen a 172 with a 182 exhaust, unless you get one custom built

With a custom pipe and some mounts 182 exhausts can be fitted to a 172. I have a KTec one on mine.

£4k is a bit of a hole for 1*2's. You will want nearer £5k for a 182, and 172's are easily had for £3k.

I got some Eibach Sportlines fitted on my 182 at the weekend and they have made quite a significant difference. It sits just right now (in my opinion) and it seems to have reduced understeer greatly. I can throw it round corners even more so now :)

Anyone else on Sportlines?

Selling the renault springs SS? My 30mm apex's are too firm.

I just changed over to Eibach Pro's a few weeks back and have my old springs for sale. Problem is one of the fronts had sheered in two (hence the replacements) so I only have 3 - both rears and one front

What size tyres do you guys have on your standard 182 wheels? The car came with 205/45/16 tyres but Ive seen some with 195/45/16... so which size did they come as standard?

I put on a 3/4 sized plate last night. Personally I think it looks a lot better. It's stuck on with heavy duty velcro so if there are problems the old one can be back on in 60 seconds (if that!).

Im thinking about getting some, the handling of my 172 sport is dire! although I think there is an underlining issue with either the steering rack or the rear shocks...

feels like its gonna throw me in the hedge around sweeping corners, almost like oversteer, only way too early without even lifting off - there is slight play in either the rack or inner tie rods but I can't see how it makes it as bad as it is on the road...

Also my driverside dshaft is shot

I cant believe this thread is on here!!

I own a Ph1 172 ;)

Never expected to find you on here either Fantom, used to love your GTi!

Used to own a Cobalt GTi dont know if you remember, was always asking you questions about your headlining :P

Swapped my 53k miles Cobalt for the Clio with 63k on, would stuff a picture up if I wasnt sat at work :D

Same username on CS, 106OC ;)

EDIT: Im on Eibach Sportlines. They came on the car so I dont really have anything to compare them to! May be for sale soon as well when I get my hands on some coilovers :)
But they are a good set of springs nonetheless, not much body roll yet still a comfortable ride :)
