Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Knocks and noises?? Sounds like you have a bad one there :( You seem to be having some quite big issues.

Mine is running a decat (Milltek) I couldn't be happier. It sits bang in the middle and looks the part and sounds amazing. It has no build issues and I am more than impressed. I got it through the MOT ;)!
 
I'm just not sure about a decat, I think it would be too much for me. Plus I'd always be worried about voiding my insurance.

To be honest, I think I did get a bad one. I was naive when I bought the car, I jumped in because I was excited and I paid way over the odds for it. As a result it's been a ****ing nightmare, and whilst I do love the car (it's been hard to), I have certainly learnt a lot of things NOT to do next time I buy a car. If I was to sell it now, I'd probably be about £4k down, seriously!
 
The insurance is a good point! Ways around that mind. But It's a risk you take. The noise it makes is funny ha! You can hear my car a mile off seriously, I quite enjoy it :) On the motorway however when you are crusing its quite tiresome. Come to a country road window down and instant smile :)!! I am quite sad I guess haha!!

I think to be fair from what I have read on here mate, you have got a bad 182. Its such a shame because mine is running mint, when they are you get such a buzz and smile driving the car, nothing comes close for the money.

You reckon you have spent £4k just on parts?? :eek:
 
Well, that and the fact they seem a lot cheaper now than they were about 10 months ago. The replacement engine in parts and labour cost me about £2k!! I had just bought the car though and couldn't bear to scrap it!

Anyway, I need to stop dwelling on it otherwise I'll go mad. I just need to enjoy the car for another 2 years tops, and then move on :)

If I'm ever loaded I'd love to get another purely as a track toy!
 
Yes you will! Just drive and enjoy the little motor :)

I am waiting for some decent dry weather to try my new tyres out!! And paint my breaks and touchup my alloys!!
 
SS, I don't think I've ever known someone have so much bad luck with a car!

Mines currently broken as well. Keeps throwing its aux belt, first garage i took it to couldn't find anything wrong and sent me on my way after refitting an aux belt (belt fell off again on the way home) and the second garage have diagnosed a missing bottom bolt from the alternator (cause of the belt coming off due to movement) but can't fit the belt when the bottom bolt is in place. It also needs a RH driveshaft which seem to be on back order from Renault so no delivery date. Given its current worth and the problems im seriously considering just writing it off and moving onto something else.
