Who here owns a Subaru?

but should a hybrid have a spoiler like this? haha.

It's like finding a really fit bodied girl but with a face that has been repeatedly hit with a bag of spanners. You would like a go, but would you live with it? PROBS NOT.

Shakespear must be jealous of the way with words that you have :D

Done a few things recently. So some updates

Put her on winter wheels and tyres.

Summer are 225/45/18's

Winter are 17" sti wheels and slightly higher profile (50) tyres, so the speedo is almost identical.

Then she went in for some major work. Got full service and cambelt replaced, then it went into the bodyshop to have every ding, scratch, dent and dodgy fix repaired and the winter wheels refurbed and repainted silver.

Lastly a set of tein coilvers with edfc to replace the knocking and knackered original suspension. Asked them to keep the stock STi height for now.

So now she looks like this and rides lovely :)

Would love a Forester STI.
Just got my Forester "Sport" (lol) back after replacing front/rear suspension with the Pedders kit, and getting an alignment done.
Nearly 130,000 miles, so the old kit was a bit tired... :/

I'm looking at clutch replacements as mine's showing signs of slipping in higher gears.

Will a decent standard replacement take a little bit of tuning (say 300-330bhp) or should I look to aftermarket?

Is it an absolute necessity to skim the flywheel too? I don't really get much juddering but it is something I've read about. Are lightened flywheels easy to source/required?

Should I DIY or is this a nightmare job to do under the car?

Btw Biffa, nice Forester!

Forester is looking good.

I've done a gearbox swap on my dad's, did the clutch at the same time. Not that hard, but very time consuming as you'd expect.

Standard clutch would be fine really. I'd definitely get the flywheel done or lightened though. On the WRX it makes the car feel a lot nicer IMO.

What car is it you have? The standard clutch is known as a 'blue box' and there's an uprated one known as the 'pink box'. On a 6 speed the blue box is good for 360ish but if you're going to change it i'd probably go for a 'pink box' exedy as they're only a few quid more.

These guys always seem to be some of the cheapest around http://www.superhids.co.uk/clutches-and-lightweight-flywheels/subaru-impreza.html

Thanks guys, I don't mind paying for an uprated clutch if it'll last a bit longer. I'd say I'm very mechanically sympathetic, the car is my daily so doesn't really get a hard life.

I was supposed to be moving next year where the car would become a bit of a toy (I'd probably replace it with an STi blob) but that's looking less likely now.

Kosta, thanks for that. I'm no stranger to a set of spanners but with a young baby, I don't get much time for tinkering any more.

Sovietspybob, it's an 02 WRX. Standard bar an exhaust.

I have to say, that compilation is definitely one of my favs. I loved that car!

2016 I'm making a come back :D

It was awesome.

Here's a bit of porn for you all.

Dad got the Cosworth AP Racing front brake setup fitted to his STI a couple of weeks ago, ignore the arch gap its still on the jacks
