Who here owns a Subaru?

I think someone over here made some too.

Would love to know the legitimacy of how much extra power they can handle. I'm personally not convinced but I'd buy a classic if I can make the 5 speed last with my abuse :p

Buy one and tell us after the production of Clutch abuse compilation volume 2

If you've got big power, the 5 speed clutch is hopeless.
You can't put the six speed clutch and flywheel in a five speed bell housing anyway so you are a bit stuffed which makes the gearbox mod utterly pointless.... apart from making the designer a load of money for yet another bolt on part that doesn't work :D

evenin all.

do we have any forester drivers in here? looking at a 2.5xt and wondering how they handle off road. Just how much mud and wet can they deal with?

It's full time 4wd so your limiting factor will be grip from the rubber, so it fully depends what tyres and how aggressive the tread is
Full independent suspension means good articulation, probably only hampered by the stiffness of your anti roll bars.
Seen an outback go places a defender can!!

Sounds good. Ive spent the evening watching youtube vids of foresters. Im impressed.

Seems hard to find a decent auto XT anywhere near me though :/

Well OK it's no worse than my discovery haha. :D

Test drive a few manuals first PLEASE...

and some have a hill-holder anyway so hill starts are immaterial.

Finally hit 160k miles today! Need to decide whether I want to spend a fortune on this car or get rid. Engine is good too, just the rest is falling apart around it. :(

Any recommendations on front brake pads for an 02 WRX?

Currently got Yellowstuff which work well but are very dusty. Also considering most of my milage is motorway, they don't seem to have lasted that well.

Not really too sure what I should be looking for... years ago DS2500 and M1155 were the pads of choice. I gather this has changed since then?

but yea, defog switch and foot on the floor :D
