I just watched a couple of your YouTube videos... what's the orange light in the centre of the dash that flashes up?

I'd be scared of shifting that quick in case I got it in the wrong gear (the box is quite "close") don't think I'm quite used to it yet.
 
2nd gear is a bit of beehatch to change down into when it's cold - do you find that?

Or maybe it's just me first thing in the morning after being awake for about 15 minutes lol

Next is spraying the brembos. I'm gonna go for something bright, anything you've seen that looks good, yellow writing on black is nice, black on lime green, white on purple...

Does anyone know on here from experience how much extra the insurance companies (namely Admiral) apply for the PPP pack? Obviosuly it's not a selectable option at the quotation stage but the PPP certfiicate does clearly state to let your insurer know.

Early stages yet for me which is why I havent asked them directly, but so far £600 doesnt seem a bad price for insuring a 2005 STI, just hope the PPP doesnt add something silly on top.
 
Hey chaps,

Just got off the phone to Graham Walker, they were kicking up a bit of a fuss about not paying for a new manifold because it was too expensive, claiming that the exhaust is not covered under their warranty (which I need to check) but have happily ordered a new Japspeed tubular header which includes the decat up-pipe which shouldn't cause me too much of an issue.

Hopefully I can just get this sorted out quickly and then remapped:D

Piece of string. If the car was made with the PPP already fitted (it should be available for quote, but possibly only over the phone: PPPs were more usually fitted later) then very little extra. But a retro fit is another matter. Some companies will just laugh in your face because it's a mod. An official one yes, but a mod none the less. More specialist insurers like A-Plan or Keith Michael will probably only add about £40 for it. Assuming that they will insure you at all. You really need to ask around a lot, but with scoobs it always pays to start with the three specialists: the two above and Greenline.
