Who here owns a Subaru?

What sort of money would I need realistically to buy a late model blob eye STI PPP? Pricing seems to be all over the place. Ideally If i was going to buy i'd be looking for a completely standard car.

You can spend £10k + on a low mileage example like this: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/...-impreza-wrx-sti-type-uk-prodrive-2005/909048
There is no mention of service history which is worrying but it looks like a nice standard example and may be worth a look. This is £3250 cheaper but the advert states that a lot of the service history has been lost. http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/...ubaru-impreza-41t-wrx-sti-type-uk-2005/913317

Be very wary of advert prices: they tell you what a person wants, not what they are actually going to get. Bug-eyes, for instance, and now worth so little that people are now selling them for parts rather than as a car. No-one is going to pay £10.5k for a 2005 STI - the owner will struggle to get real offers over £8k. It really is a buyers market for cars like that.

^^ what he said^^

i have a integra type R im currently selling and even though its in the high end of quality people want to buy it for peanuts(i wont sell) and you see people starting prices at 5,500 ending up at 3,500 and lower all the time.

they have money we want money.......... its all down to how badly u need it and how much there willing to give = the overall price

Some good advice above!

Parts... if you're buying new, try to contact people like Roger Clark MotorSport or similar, anyone who can source genuine parts. They can normally get them cheaper.

The new 4 door is a great car, still needs more power though :D

I've had a week of literally working on the car most evenings, in the dark, in the cold, and having multiple set backs! But... I think I'm back on track, just a few more things to sort and hopefully I'll be alright to run at the Powerstation RR day.

Might be on to something here, this isn't on the market but someone has approached me perhaps willing to sell...

2005 Hawk Sti. Lower tax band. 40k miles. Fssh. Ap racing 6 pots front. 4 pots rear. Intrax Hda nitrogen filled dampers. Powerstation 350/350 pack, inc 3" turbo back milltek exhaust. 100 cell sports cat. Ecutek licence. Whiteline 22mm front and rear anti roll bars. Drop links and anti lift kit. 18" Speedline corse Turini alloys. Goodyear eagle f1 assy 2. Good ridge brake lines. Defi bf gauges in defi pod. Amber to match clocks

Looks damn clean and has some nice mods. Little bit concerned about running 350/350 on the 2.5 lump mind, must be about it's limit

FPR fitted, and then mapped at RCM.

Will save the result for now as the dyno day is on Saturday and Powerstation is my choice for figures as I've had many runs there.

My neutral position sensor is faulty though, causing my AVCS to not function right, so I am missing a chunk of power/torque low down which is annoying, but once replaced I will get it checked over again.
