Who here owns a Subaru?

I would've considered an Impreza (after all the 2.5XT and the Impreza are pretty similar cars) but being only 21 there was a massive premium to pay on the Impreza, whereas the Forester slips in under the radar almost with insurance companies. Plus I quite like the stealth aspect of the Forester, it looks like it'd struggle to get up a hill in anything but first gear.

I actually bought an impreza sport so it's a N/A. :o

The forester was cheap and only a few miles away, it wasn't in the best of nicks but I could have spent a little on it. I'm just waiting for it to properly snow so I can test the AWD on this car properly.

Sorry for my ignorance, but apart from giving higher octance, what else does mixing 20% meths do ??

Would i have to have a remap with meths in the tank ?? Or is it as simple as just adding it to the fuel and the off i go thing ??

Also where is meths obtained if possible ??

It has to be mapped with meth in the tank and kosta gets his from a company called jennychem

I had to travel up to Liverpool to get it, they're hard cars to find in manual and 2.5XT form. What did you pay for yours and what's the mileage on it?

I paid just over 4 for it and its done 80k, I'd been looking for ages, then got distracted with the Outbacks and when I went back to looking at sub £5K Foresters they had all dissapeared except for a couple, in fact Yorkshire was the closest, the others were in Scotland!

Really pleased with it, its a second car so the fuel consumptions not a biggie and it'll probably only do around 8K a year if that. We've got the A2 that does 60mpg and costs £30 a year to tax for the donkey work.

Yeah, all the ones I were looking at were pretty much in Scotland. There was a black facelift one I was planning on getting and the dealer essentially closed up the business in the middle of discussion. There was another facelift (silver one like yours) up in Aberdeen. Eventually I saw a private one on for a good price by Liverpool (the one I have now) so got that instead. Had 112k when I got it, and a full service history, and paid £3,200 for it,

Just need a little bit of help regarding my exhaust system.

I've now got, waiting to be fitted onto my STi,

Standard manifolds which will be ported
Blitz Nur Spec R

So I want to get a downpipe thats decatted now what do I need to get as I have looked at the diagram of the exhaust system and if i'm correct it goes

Downpipe > Centre Pipe > Blitz Nur Spec R?

I'm getting confused on the H&S website as they have two types of pipes, which one should I be going for, with consideration that I will get the Blitz NSR modded to a full 3" system. Kosta you will probably be best to answer as I am getting the same setup as you basically.

Hope get sorted mate. Would love to hear a soundclip/vid when you get it on, I fancy one myself but they are supposed to be earsplitting loud.

Kosta's sounds great on his vids :D

Meth runs cooler, allowing more ignition meaning more power.

How to do add it and know its a 20% mix in the tank?

Do you take a jerry can of meth with you go to the petrol station?

20% is a very easy mix IMO. 5 litre jerry can + 20litres fuel = 25 litres with a 20% mix of meth. 10 litre jerry can + 40litres fuel = 50 litres (or full tank from the fuel light) with a 20% meth mix.

You want the long 3" downpipe. This replaces the downpipe and first centre section cat. Then you will just need to have the 2.5" end of the Nur Spec R centre section cut off and welded with a 3" section and flange.

PS the Nur Spec R is actually slightly larger than 3", it's like 3 1/4". No one seems to make that size pipe though.

Hope that helps :)

I have a problem with my Scoob. Instead of making a new thread I'll post it in here, my left wheel vibrates through the steering sometimes, and if I press the brake pedal very lightly it stops.

If I go straight my brakes squeak, and if I turn left a little they stop squeaking. When I used to full lock and turn right, the left wheel would squeak. It has stopped doing that now.

So two things, is it the wheel bearing or the brakes? If It's the wheel bearing how can I check to see if it actually is that? I think my pads do need a change though.

Cheers mate that is clear. Does it matter which manufacturer I go with? I guess with headers it's important to go with quality but is there much difference with downpipes?

Drumroll please...

I'm now the proud owner of a 1 owner, low mile, immaculate black 2005 Blob STI. Bought locally within an hour of advert going live. Cant believe all the waiting and travelling then one comes up in 7 mile!

Its completely standard barring the PPP. I have a little money left over so would like sone suggestions on how best to spend it on her. The wise move is a good service and cambelt. Definitely buying a HT Autos front lip tomorrow.

Ideally would like a HKS SSQV and exhaust but budget might not stretch. Kosta/Gurdas I know you may have these up for grabs so any ideas on what price you would like? Guess a new panel filter would be wise too.

Im afraid the standard gold wheels and suspension will have to wait, cant do it all at once.

I must say, the blob power delivery is much better than the hawk. Really pleased Im now part of the fraternity :D

Will get some pics up later, on phone at the monent. Gurdas, without being a stalker can you upload some photos of yours for inspiration please?

Any other suggestions?

Well done on finally getting one and joining the widetrack 'club' ;)

I'd get a good service, cambelt and some petrol and just enjoy it! :D

They're very good cars as standard so don't start modding for the sake of it, use it and learn which parts would genuinely improve it. Well that's what i did with mine anyway!

On another note I've just had to replace 1 of the rear top mounts of my BC coilovers as it started knocking, and even though it was out of warranty APEX sent me out 2 brand new replacements no questions asked! Took about an hour and a half to take the strut off and replace the mount and bolt it all back together.

Made my own ghetto camber gauge which i'll have to take pics of later

Congrats buddy! I knew you would find one:) Ill put up some good pics in a sec as I've got some good new ones to share.

As for exhaust, I have a Ninja 2 that I will be selling, yours for £125 including the centre section so it's catback and in great condition, makes a great sound and much better than the standard exhaust. Also I will be selling my alloys too.

Excellent, thanks mate.

Definitely would like to talk on exhaust and wheels. You can get me on ihutchinsonATntlworldDOTcom :)
