Cheers mate that is clear. Does it matter which manufacturer I go with? I guess with headers it's important to go with quality but is there much difference with downpipes?

urm... Depends really. Cheap cheap stuff avoid, but yeah most are alright these days. Keep away from Toyo stuff.

still want a go in that car !

that looks fantastic!

i really love these scoobies over the new ones or the 90's ones, although the 90's ones arent too bad
but this is the one id have, what year is that ? 2003?

Cheers dude. Much appreciated. You are more than welcome to come out with me one day :)

Drumroll please...

I'm now the proud owner of a 1 owner, low mile, immaculate black 2005 Blob STI. Bought locally within an hour of advert going live. Cant believe all the waiting and travelling then one comes up in 7 mile!

Its completely standard barring the PPP. I have a little money left over so would like sone suggestions on how best to spend it on her. The wise move is a good service and cambelt. Definitely buying a HT Autos front lip tomorrow.

Ideally would like a HKS SSQV and exhaust but budget might not stretch. Kosta/Gurdas I know you may have these up for grabs so any ideas on what price you would like? Guess a new panel filter would be wise too.

Im afraid the standard gold wheels and suspension will have to wait, cant do it all at once.

I must say, the blob power delivery is much better than the hawk. Really pleased Im now part of the fraternity :D

Will get some pics up later, on phone at the monent. Gurdas, without being a stalker can you upload some photos of yours for inspiration please?

Any other suggestions?

Get in!! Good man :D

Yup I got my SSQV still if you want it. Drop me a message to kostandinokustasATgooglemailDOTcom ;) lol.

First things first. Full service. Get everything done. Spark plugs, good panel filter, fuel filter, gearbox and diff oil, engine oil, cambelt etc. Hell even get the oil pump uprated whilst getting the belt done. Then you have a base to proceed :)

G4ORCE, get some pics up man. Kosta, 18's all the way, I cannot wait to get my Speedlines on, get another splitter, get side skirt extensions fitted and I think i'm done with the exterior.

I need to upgrade my oil pump, walbro255 you recommend? Also who shall I get to port my manifold, as I have a standard one now (sold the japspeed tubular) and i'm trying to locate a Harvey Smith Up-Pipe, know anywhere that I may get one now that with his unfortunate passing?

You mean fuel pump? Walbro is one of the preferred. 255 is the one to have.

Oil pump is something to do when doing the cambelt. They have been known to fail in the past so getting someone like API to fit an uprated on whilst the cambelt is being done is well worth the security IMO.

You may be able to source an up pipe on Scoobynet or similar, but you may struggle now :(

I would say speak to your local Subaru specialist about porting the standard manifold. Loads of places do it, Harvey just pioneered in doing it right :)

Yes sorry fuel pump is what I meant, I was partly reading your post whilst typing:p

I bought the Blitz off someone for £375 but he informed me of a cosmetic scratch on the underside of the centre section so is knocking off £125 off the price so i've picked up a right bargain:)

All I need to do is fuel pump, port manifold (found someone who can do it), harvey up-pipe, decat downpipe, 3" full Blitz NSR and then finally remap by Duncan and fingers crossed I want to aim for 340bhp:D

Anything else you recommend I do whilst i'm getting all those parts fitted?

No. Seriously - no. It won't help the car in any way, it might even hinder it, and it sounds as chavvy as hell. How much money are we talking? With PPP, most mods worth doing are now getting expensive. If you do the exhaust, either just change the backbox to annoy the neighbours, or change the whole thing - which is pricey for a good one. Rear ARB and drop links would probably be my first move - reduce the body-roll.

What decent oil can you guys recommend for my GX? Helped my mate do an oil change on his Classic and he put in 10w-60 or something like that. :o

Would 5w-30 fully synthetic be sufficient? I'm running a manifold/decat/think 2.5" pipe to back box.

Which panel filter should I go for? Also do you recommend I go for an induction kit or stay as is?

K&N is always a good shout. Stick with the panel filter for noe, I swapped for the noise. No more benefit than that at this power level.

10w-40 is a good balance.

id love to try and get one of these, but not sure the prices of these at all
i doubt i could afford one next year, but maybe the following year

out of interest what sort of money are 2002/3 wrx's these days ? low mileage, i dont like buying a car with 100K on the clock :p

failing that, a normal one without the turbo?

You can get a lot of Subaru for sub £5k these days....

Fully Syn? Or Semi?

Shiwarrior if you do buy a Scoob please do not get one without a turbo. It really lacks punch. :(

03/53 Blobeyes are around the £3k-ish mark for a WRX. Bugeyes are down around 2k/2.5k. I seen one with 77k on the clock which is quite nice for £2k.

Honestly, it really isn't going to make much difference on a non turbo, so either or chap :)

I have a problem with my Scoob. Instead of making a new thread I'll post it in here, my left wheel vibrates through the steering sometimes, and if I press the brake pedal very lightly it stops.

If I go straight my brakes squeak, and if I turn left a little they stop squeaking. When I used to full lock and turn right, the left wheel would squeak. It has stopped doing that now.

So two things, is it the wheel bearing or the brakes? If It's the wheel bearing how can I check to see if it actually is that? I think my pads do need a change though.

Warped disc i'd have thought :)

Dawn (Harveys wife) is selling off his stock, its £155 for the pipe and £12 for delivery. Is it worth getting, I do have a standard up-pipe that I guess I could get my guy to port alongside the manifolds?

Ouch, just been calling around for a cambelt/tensioner - Subaru have just quoted me £500 or £900 inc. a full service.

Posted a message on the local owners club for some local suggestions. Anyone care to give me some benchmarking on price so I know I'm not being raped?
