Who here owns a Subaru?

Dawn (Harveys wife) is selling off his stock, its £155 for the pipe and £12 for delivery. Is it worth getting, I do have a standard up-pipe that I guess I could get my guy to port alongside the manifolds?

So wait... hang on, have you managed to get a response from her? Where have you found this? I need to get my stuff back and if she is sorting his stock then she can send me my stuff back? But yeah worth getting.

Ouch, just been calling around for a cambelt/tensioner - Subaru have just quoted me £500 or £900 inc. a full service.

Posted a message on the local owners club for some local suggestions. Anyone care to give me some benchmarking on price so I know I'm not being raped?

You are being raped by going to a main dealer yes :) Find a local Subaru specialist.

Rough idea:

Yes I PM'd her using Harvey's account on SN and she replied this morning. Contact her she should be able to sort things. Good to know its worth getting as ill buy one later tonight.

Fully Syn? Or Semi?

Shiwarrior if you do buy a Scoob please do not get one without a turbo. It really lacks punch. :(

03/53 Blobeyes are around the £3k-ish mark for a WRX. Bugeyes are down around 2k/2.5k. I seen one with 77k on the clock which is quite nice for £2k.

You can get a lot of Subaru for sub £5k these days....

Honestly, it really isn't going to make much difference on a non turbo, so either or chap :)

2K is that all? where

Did she message you back this evening then?

I've had nothing :(

Shiwarrior there's plenty of new age WRXs in that money range. Not the best mind you, but still decent. Subaru values have really fallen for WRX models as everyone wants the bargain STi so WRX prices must reflect this.

Hey dude, yes she messaged me twice. To confirm she received my payment and secondly to ask me if I wanted to buy his custom handmade decat downpipe.

I'm just enquiring as to if its a full pipe but at the moment i've got a couple of options.

A) Cobra Sport Decat first and second decat downpipe - £160
B) Hayward and Scott one piece decat downpipe - £294
C) Harvey Handmade decat downpipe - £150

The H&S is a lot more expensive and i've heard good things about Cobra.

Usual places. They do still have dreamers wanting £5k for their bugeye WRX..

Cobra Sport is good stuff, I have their track system. Find out if Harvey's downpipe is the long or short one and you should be good to go :)

Been speaking with Darren at DLM in Darlington today about a service, after recommendations on Scoobynet and my local forum, first impressions he comes across as a very honest guy and I will likely go with him for a service once he confirms price :)

Pick the car up tomorrow night - cannot wait for my first drive home in it :D

Just bought Harvey Up Pipe:)

Now I need to buy the decat and also Dei heat wrap. Question, do I need to heat wrap the normal headers and downpipe too?

Headers, yes; downpipe, no. Headers are more important than the up-pipe They are hotter, and have a higher surface area/volume ratio, so need better insulation), so do them first in case you run out of tape. If you are doing the tape yourself, remember to wet the tape first, and wrap bare wire around the outside when you are done to stop the tape unravelling.

Not bad at all chap. Your car will sound nearly identical to mine ! :D

I personally would wrap the downpipe as well. Headers are more important I agree, but every little helps when it comes to stopping the top mount getting warmer!
