There just doesn't seem to be any space what so ever apart from the gap between the filter and front rad. Even with that, there isn't enough leverage to get a screwdriver in. I'm going to have to tackle it again in the morning. :(
 
OK no micky-taking lads because I'm close to tears...

Picked my car up this evening, polished and immaculate - spotless. Driven home, pulled on the drive...stalled it and hit my garage pillar. Needless to say the brick pillar won and has left me with a small crack and damaged paint on the front bumper and fog cover. 30mins on to ownership.

I'm gutted, so so angry with myself as its something Ive never done before. My beautful baby is tarnished and so is my excitement of ownership.

Calling a bodyshop tomorrow :(

The filter came off with G-Clamp and leg power.

Never again.

Oh and I had to buy another filter, the one I ordered was 80mm and the one I needed was 70mm.

Ive used the lad before when a daft kid hit my rear quarter on my Type-R and he did a great job. Big sigh of relief at that price.

Will get some pics up soon, though its only standard so youre not missing much at this stage :D Im still at the stage where the car scares me, though given the icy roads Ive not had chance to begin learning her limits safely.

Question: Im ordering a HT Autos front lip tomorrow, as seeing as so its in the bodyshop do I get the splitter painted or stick with self-colour satin finish? A painted finish may perhaps get a little tatty over time?

Glad to hear that your damage isnt going to cost too much.

Ive had my STi just over 3 mths now, they are extremely quick as standard. Mine had the PPP pack aswell, but was still plenty fast enough for me.

In the 3 mths of my ownership i have just started getting used to the power and the ride of the car, currently i have added a K&N panel filter, Japspeed backbox, and had it remapped by Duncan from Racedynamix. There is still quite a bit for me to do, to get it exactly how i want it looking, but ill enjoy and wait.

Scoobydoo is a great lad, for passing on so much valuable information to help with mods etc and where to get cheaper upgrades. So i salute you sir.

Enjoy the car like i have :)
 
Quick question. I have a blue STi, im going to get new mudflaps.

So the questions is BLUE with PINK STi to go with the colour of the car, and just replace the existing flaps.

Or BLACK with a different colour STi logo PINK or WHITE??

What do you guys think ?
 
Thanks for the kind words! I just try to help in the same way that I have been helped by others in the past. :)

I have blue flaps and STi in pink on mine. I like how it looks. I also quite like smaller gloss black flaps though.
