Who here owns a Subaru?

Congrats Tom, nice to see it's got a proper spoiler on it!

Congrats Tom :)

Guys I think in the next week or two I may be buying Steve's from Scoobynet, spoke on phone tonight and hes a genuinely nice chap so no hesitation there.

Honest opinions: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/subaru-444/982717-gauging-interest-widetrack-sti-wr-blue.html

Id still buy yours in a heartbeat Gurdas, I lust over her so :D

Buy it, I would. Got some nice mods on that too, could easily make a grand off those parts if you ever decide to sell it.

Thought about buying Steve's car myself, seems like a great example. Just so strange that it hasn't sold yet...

Because he thinks an eight-year old Impreza is worth £8.5k? Nobody is buying cars like that any more, except at knock-down prices. At best he'll struggle to get £7 for it. I certainly wouldn't pay any more.

Widetracks command a higher price and the mileage is good. I certainly wouldn't sell mine for less than £9k.

Widetracks do command a higher price but still people need to get real imo it is getting on a bit now. I know i'd only expect 7~k at a push for mine now as its got 70k on the clock and i wouldn't expect any of the mods i've done (bc's, remap, whiteline, gauges etc) to add any value to it, quite the opposite.

Glad you're enjoying it Tom. :)

As for the price of a widetrack, yes maybe it is a bit expensive. But it has some decent mods done to it (not that they add value but rather help it maintain value IMO) and it is a good example.

Many thanks dude. Fantastic car :D

Do you, by any chance have any idea how much the Morettes are worth?

..well thats me not getting another Scoob...

I've just had a major shocker, just rang the insurance (and others) to get a quote, this was not mentioning any mods.... £1169.

I paid £330 for my Astra VXR Nurb and only £590 for my old 2005 STI back in December. This is at 32 years old and maximum NCB, no points. Nothing has changed since I last owned one.

Idiots man, I'm sure they make it up as they go along. I'm going for a Type-R (Civic) now, which stangely costs an additional £90 premium than my VXR Nurb, despite it being less desirable, less powerful and less expensive. At this age I didn't even think I'd be whining about insurance now.

Before anyone mentions, this is through various local brokers, online comparison sites and the specialist brokers too. Very strange.

At 41 Insurance for me was ~£900 inc home start, legal cover with all mods declared. I ran it thought a few sites without the mods and I think it was closer to £550.

LOL my insurance is less than my road tax now with greenlight.

£460 for my insurance on a 7,500 mileage policy on a 2007 Hakweye 275bhp/ 360lb/ft WRX with declaired mods.

6 years NCB.

EDIT- Thats with greenlight

Subaru nutters..

How much am I looking at for a cambelt change, my impreza is approaching 100k and nearly due, do you have to replace the tensioner?

Also is the water pump worth doing I've heard conflicting opinions

Around £400-£450 for a geniune from an approved garage and £200-£250 for none geniune from a none approved garage.

That includes the tension rollers, I would suggest you do them at the same time.
