Who here owns a Subaru?

Cheers lads :)

Silly question but what fitment am I looking for? Likewise I guess the cheapest option is to transfer the existing tyres over? Are the ones that are on 16" or 17"? Am I better off paying more for a bigger wheel size and buying new tyres?

You are looking for 5 x 114.3 wheels. Your current wheels are 17", I recommend you go for 18" wheels and Eagle F1s, that's the setup I have on mine.

Looks like yesterday was a good day for buying.

Went with my dad yesterday and he's traded his EVO in for this.

2005/55 plate, Completely standard widetrack DCCD STI 45k miles on the clock.

Seller has just pulled out on me and sold it at asking price to another buyer. So much for a deposit. Train was arranged, insurance was arranged, loan was arranged.

Bouncing.

A handshake obviously means nothing these days. I would have give him the extra £300 if he at least gave me a call out of courtesy.

Back to the drawing board :(

Hmmm, would 67K miles put you off? I was rather hoping for circa 50K but found a nice black one (not for sale yet so price tbc, any comments on price considering miles?)

Gurdas....go on mate....now is the time to sell up buddy and commit to that lovely Bentley of yours :D

Wouldn't bother me if it was my own money but it's up to you at the end of the day,..shame about the selling pulling out, hopefully you find an equally good or better one next time!

Cheers lads. Onwards I guess. Still smarting about it though.

I'll forget all about it when another comes up though, even if it isn't the bargain this was...

The lads on Scoobynet are great, so funny

oh yeah they funny bunch on there lol

ask about dumpvalues and roof scoops :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Well I'm all prepped and ready - waiting for one to come up this weekend. One came up on eBay this morning, in Essex, which is a 5 hour train journey and 4 hours drive back. Not a problem. On paper it sounds good, 49K miles 2005 STI PPP. When asking specifics though - needs cambelt, needs pads, needs tyres, needs windscreen repair, scratch on front bumper, scratch on rear bumper - he wants £9K... no chance when it needs all of that. Even if it does have DEFIs and a H&S exhaust :D

I'm skipping that one and waiting for the next.

That isn't a lot of work and if he's been up front about that, then perhaps there isn't anything else that needs doing. Can you not get him to lower his price?

I agree with MilanoChris here: people criticise sellers for lying about the condition of their car, then walk away as soon as one is honest: the odd scratch is only to be expected on a car of that age, if it has actually been driven. The cam belt just means it needs the 50k service, IIRC. Pads and tyres are just one of things: most people sell up just before they need to replace stuff like that. However, £9k is wildly optimistic for an eight-year old STI (PPP makes little difference) at 50k miles. If he gets £7.5 he's doing well.

Personally I would always view a car and then collect it the next day. Leaving it a week is too long and something like this will happen. The seller will use you as a lever to get more from another buyer.

People are **** just a fact of life.

...sigh... patience wearing thin. Im checking pistonheads, ebay, autotrader almost every 30mins morning til night. Weekends Im patiently waiting around to jump on a train. Hard work this, so much for a buyers market.

Notice this thread is quiet now with Kosta having a break and Gurdas enjoying his new toy.

...sell her Gurdas, sell herrrrrr, sell to Hutchy... /sublimal message ends :D
