So I don’t see why an induction kit would cause any sensor issues, presuming it’s installed correctly. As long as there’s good airflow then there’s nothing for a sensor to get upset about.
In terms of warranty from VW - giving them any excuse to void a warranty is probably not a good idea. The could, for example, claim that the air box/filter is a critical component of the engine, so anything related to that could be voided.
If it were me, I wouldn’t be risking it for the sake of some induction noise. Wait until the warranty is up and then go full stage 1 or stage 2 if that’s what you want to do. You should also consider that you’ll need to declare any modifications to your insurance company - is it worth your premium increasing (or you potentially having to find a different insurer) for the sake of some induction noise?
Not worth it in my opinion.
With the modification declared my premium remains the same which I did check.
You are talking a lot of sense in regards to warranty especially as even with nothing to dispute they can be difficult doing any warranty work.
However I suppose on that front it could always be bolted on and bolted off prior to a visit to the dealer however that is certainly effort I could do with out for as you said the sake of some induction noise!
But think I’m more leaning to leaving it for now.
