Reverse sensors are something you miss when you have had them previously and have come to rely on them. The mondeo is a big car after all.

I find them useful for knowing just how close I am getting to what's behind me, which can be useful in tighter parking spots. The rear of the car isn't exactly flat past the rear window and it can be difficult to judge in the mirrors. There's no reason to claim that you don't "need" them or that they're "not manly" imho. They're a driving aid, like power steering and ABS and vacuum-assisted brakes and whatnot. If you don't need any of those things, great.

I agree, sums it up nicely. Also it was key to me convincing the mrs that her driving a big car wouldn't be any more difficult to maneuver than her fiesta.

I always thought meh parking sensors for girls.
But now I have them I love them, they do make parking a hell of a lot easier.
GFs dad has front and rear sensors on his 12 plate TDCI, even handier.
Although I think judging the front of the car is easier than the back. :)

Yeah, my fairly basic spec A4 from 99 had sensors which is why I'm surprised this car doesn't have them when it has xenon headlamps and satnav etc.

If I ever want to replace the satnav/headunit thing, is it only certain headunits that will fit and work completely with all the features including satnav etc? Is it those doubledin head units?

Did it come as standard on the A4 or as an option?

If you've got the factory satnav then you won't be able to replace it with an off-the-shelf double din unit - or any other one for that matter.

I think you need a whole new centre console before that becomes an option. I'm sure there's other faffing about involved too.

The A4 I had wasn't all that specced so I'm not sure whether it was standard or just something the original buyer wanted.

I've seen a few units released by manufacturers who have made stuff for Ford but then they've released these branded units to sell separately. Not sure if those would work? Would be like buying the unit from a new Mondeo/Cmax and fitting it into an older car... I guess it might work depending on the connections?

There's a local in car entertainment and electronics specialist that I'll be popping in to see as they claim to have decent experience in replacing all in one satnav/ICE solutions.

I noticed in the comments that they previously accepted a Best Offer for those alloys (so someone got them even cheaper than £288).

It also says they've sold 6 sets already. Not a misprice then?

If it wasn't for my drive i would probably lower the ST a inch or 2. I scrape my drive as it now though...

As i have already said, The RS alloys look great on lowered ST's, especially the estates. Would have to be sprayed silver though.

Great price aswell!
