Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

if only I could find some jacking point covers that cheap
Had to get a new brake caliper today as my handbrake had gone floppy. That and the brakes bled cost £120 :( on top of my £100 windscreen replacement last week.
Anyone else find the ST220 clutch a high biting point or is mine on its last legs? Notice it more on hills have to bring the clutch all the way up

I have spent over £1k getting my car back on the road :p
1k  what have u had done? you cant sell it now after spending that :D

Not sure, I just get it to bite without thinking, I'll check it out tomorrow for you and let you know where mine is. 110k on the clock for me.

mine has done 89k. The ST220 clutch is quite weird anyway to other cars i have owned/driven but just lately i have noticed when on hills or steep incline i am bringing the clutch all the way to the top waiting for the biting point. Ive almost stalled a few times as i get the rev's and practically have to fully bring it up to get any bite to move off.
i have tried the taking off in 1st then putting it into 5th to see if it slips but its fine when i do that.

Has anyone had to replace their gas struts on the boot? Mine has been weak for a while and I have been putting up with it, but yesterday it fell on top of my head (was bent over at the back of the car).it basically fell the entire height it could fall and it was the latch in the centre that hit my head. Damn near brought a tear to my eye.

Could really do with fixing this. What would be the best way to go about this? Take a chance on a used one from a breakers yard or just get a new one?

edit: They're WAY cheaper than I thought they would be. Eurocar parts has them for £16.74...

SNAP! Mine fell on my girlfriends head though, was laughing so hard I thought she was going to kill me!!

Will get some ordered tomorrow at that price

Battery light came on my car yesterday when I was out and about. :(

Anyone else have this? It started flickering every 30 secs or so at first and got closer and closer together until it was doing it about once every 2 seconds.

It actually stopped flickering completely for the final 10 miles or so to get home but it's left me worried!

From a quick google it looks like it's either battery or alternator but more likely to be alternator...

i had this last week. i only do 6 miles a day (with all the electrics on when its cold! when i only go to work and back, so i just charged the battery and its ok again now.
If you have a charger you come try charging it, but it sounds more like the alternator isn't charging your battery to me.

Hi guys, might be looking at an ST220 for a daily driver and to offer practicality/comfort where my S2000 falls short. It'll be doing around 12 miles a day then weekend jaunts to random places.

I'm aware fuel consumption won't be great, but apart from that, does the engine not respond well to short trips each day? Is there anything to look out for in particular? Looking to spend around £3k or so, bu the cheaper the better obviously. :)
