Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Is it illegal to have tinted rear lights like the one in this pic? Im seeing more and more cars on the road with tinted tail lights. The pic is a random one from google images but my car is also black and i think it looks better than the standard red lights. I have seen a few on ebay for sale that have been tinted. I have also heard of a few window tinting places that use a covex film thats meant to still transmit all the light through.

Still doesn't answer my question :D
Yes I know that chavmobile looks gash but Tinted tail lights look good on just a normal black car imo. It's no different to the black eye headlights that people like to put on there St's.

My 03 ST220 has been doing the whole juddery acceleration recently! It started a while ago so I had new HT leads and a new coil pack fitted but the issue seems to remain. The leads and coilpack weren't Ford parts and apparently non-Ford parts can be a bit iffy?

The car runs nicely with plenty of power when the engine is cold and has auto choke or whatever it's called (idles at around 1200rpm instead of 800) but when the engine warms up, I start to get the juddering at low revs when I accelerate in 3rd/4th/5th etc. There's also another zone of low power at around 5000rpm when accelerating.

Plugs were changed back in April/March fyi

Answers on a postcard pretty please :D

So... Eventually I was able to get this fixed!

My job changed a little recently so I get a 1 in 4 week rotation out of the office where I get given a pool car to drive for the week (1 series diesel thingy which isn't too bad) so I handed in my car to the garage and told em to try sorting it again.

I got the car back on Friday but someone else had to pick up my keys so I didn't get to find out what the issue was after all until today! It turned out the problem was the HT leads.

I'd read in a few places that 3rd party leads could be a cause but it was only a few cases and the price difference made it an expensive thing to just 'try out' but it definitely has done the trick!

Apparently the third party ones didn't fit very well or something so the connection wasn't great. Now with the new leads I have an engine that works again :D and since I'd already paid to get the swapped/installed before, the guy who runs the garage said I didn't need to pay for any labour either which is nice.

Good to hear your car is running fine again now. I have heard that mentioned on a few forums about these being tempremental with other leads. My juddered a little at lower revs and when I get it serviced again soon I might get the coil pack and Ht leads doing but I'll make sure I get proper one's.
Was thinking of selling my ST220 for a Focus ST but every time i drive it I change my mind :(

Yeah, I had my plugs changed back in April/May last year and the problems started a little after that. I don't think the leads were changed as part of that and when the issues started I got the coilpack changed with leads if I remember rightly.

I guess maybe the coilpack was on its way out but getting cheapy leads along with the replacement coilpack meant the coilpack didn't seem to fix the issue

Seems worth a look, it appears to have been owned by someone who likes tinkering, or who has thrown money at someone else to do it for them - the blue LED's aren't original and must have taken a bit of faffing to do, especially inside the nav unit.

Did think they stuck out a bit, considering it's an "original, un-abused example". Are these led jobs quite involved (should I want to remove them, back to standard) ?

Very. You have to take all the dashboard apart, and many/most of them will be tiny surface-mounted LEDs that require a steady hand and a small soldering iron to remove.
