Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Guess I will have to take a look :) Seller hasn't got back to me whether or not he will hold on to it until I've looked at it, also its buy it now on eBay rather than classified add, and the watchers count is building. Need to ring the guy tomorrow morning methinks and see if its still going.

did u look at that ST220? looked a good example that

Howard, who was you insured with?

GLI have quoted me £370. Tesco quoted me £300 but they don't cover mods / driving other cars. Still i tried getting GLI to match this and they was one step ahead of me and already knew Tesco's cover for performance cars was naff, so told me to **** off basically :p

Sure i remember you saying you got yours for £300.

Im insured with Admiral renewel due end this month @ £356 but AA (who are usually terrible with quotes for me) have sent me a letter @ £321 so might be worth giving them a go.

At the moment when I start my ST the idling bounces about erratically for the first few minutes and then settles down.
It goes from high revs to almost stalling.

This has resulted in the engine management light coming on.

About a month ago the breather pipe was replaced which cleared another engine fault but during the repair the garage said they had to clean out the idle control valve.

Could the idle control valve now need replacing?

i usually go on a price comparison website. find the cheapest quote, then ring up the company directly and its £100-200 than the quote i got from the price comparison website. :)

Anyone used ramps on their 220? Want to be able to tinker on mine myself but I can't easily get it raised with just a single trolley jack,so thought ramps might be a better option.

My worry is clearance on both front and rear given the lowered bodywork. Thoughts? Haven't found one yet that will take the big tyres.

I made some ramps of my own out of wood. They're a shallower entry than regular metal ones and even they just went under. You'll probably have to drive onto a couple of planks of wood as well.

That is what I did if you read my post :p

I'm happy with £370, just having a wander to see if I can get it any cheaper.

No, no ramps for lowered cars. Unless you have plenty of space for size of them :p

Trolley jack + 2 stands

I even struggled reversing up my ramps. Had to place them in a certain place on my side drive so I could get up them. Only got away with it as the first bit of my drive is quite steep and my side drive straightens, so placed them right on the edge where it straightens out.

Jack up, place stand somewhere on the chassis with some cardboard/wood between the stand and chassis. Do the same on the other side. Should at least get 2.5ft clearance on the front with a half decent jack.
