*****Who wants a $1000 INTEL CPU FREE? - COMPETITION TIME!!*****

I have noticed this a lot of late as well. It really is sad. I mean sad in the real opposite of happy sad. Genuinely dissapointing as a loyal OCUK customer to see some of the posts from OCUK staff. Bit like in the thread about Sandy Bridge issues dictating what customers should/should not and do/do not do with their PCs. This is the issue OCUK.

Not really. It's the dreamers and complain artists that waste a lot of our time.

I think you need to address your attitude towards OcUK to be honest. Remember this is our forum for our site that we allow you (members) to post on free of charge and participate in competitions free of charge.

But some how this is unfair? Get a grip.

There is no anger, just
Customers are given the opportunity to enter a competition to win Intel's flagship yet to be released processor, they moan even though entry is at your own free will, no one has to enter.

Now however stating how OcUK dictates how customers should and should not do with their PC's does get my back up, so let me get this right, I personally go out of my way testing Sandybridge to try and discover whats killing them to help customers killing their own. I post all my findings and post advice and as many pointers as I can. I went out of my way to help customers to help them prevent damaging their hardware on a new widely un-tested platform. Myself nor anyone at OcUK was dictating, we were performing an investigation and sharing our results, something none of our competitors did. We went above and beyond our way to help out.

Principle? It's a free competition you don't have to enter. I can't remember people moaning because they couldn't design a logo, just I'm rubbish at photoshop but goodluck to those who do entre. Your attitude really is mind boggaling.

Principle of signing up to the sites, not of entering the competition. :p

As has been said, some people don't want to be associated with them, even by a fake email (which requires even more setting up).

EDIT: As I've also stated, it is a great competition, but I dislike one of the rules/requirements and so shant be entering because the effort of meeting the requirement makes it pointless as I am not great with Photoshop and don't know of anywhere good to post the pictures and take a picture...so won't win and would have signed up to sites for no reason.

Just wondering when the deleting of posts will start to happen.

I did enter the last comp where you had to have a ******* account (think it was for GFX card). Instantly deleted the account the day the comp closed.

Fully understand why OcUK are doing it. Advertising on the scale that they can get through FB / T wouild cost a small fortune and a $1000 CPU would be a worthwhile investment for the potential extra business.

Would have thought about entering this one except I am unable ot create a ******* account and download th epics, due to my current location and cant get access until past the closing date, so have to admit ot feeling a wee bit seen off about that.

Hey ho.

It's principle too...

I have a dream that one day, people will be able to enter competitions without being forced to sign up to social networks !

I have a dream that whiny forum posters who don't like Facebook won't have to worry about taking 2 minutes to sign up to a website !

I have a dream that i will get a $1000 CPU without doing much of anything in return !

The whinging in this thread is incredible. If you don't want to sign up for anything, that's fine. Just don't enter. Simple. There's plenty of people that do.

Well don't sign up, but such a negative attitude is uncalled for.

Just allow the less miserable people to signup and enjoy our FREE give-aways!

While I don't necessarily agreee with people moaning about having to sign up to FB/twitter I don't really see how you are making it out asif its a huge massive favour you are doing. Infact, people entering the compeititon are surely doing you a favour? If you divide the amount of people you advertise to via the entrants Twitter/Facebook, it is likely to amount to very little amounts of money being spent per person advertised to. It also cuts out man hours don't forget. Plus i'm sure $1000 is the retail price, no where near the price you pay. I'm not saying just gift it, nor am I sticking up for people moaning about having to have a social network page, but I just don't really get the 'massive favour' thing. Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick but that's how it comes across to me

Also, even if your customers get on your nerves you shouldn't really mock them, after all they are the people who keep you in a job and spend money on your services.

Which is what I'm doing.

Myself (and some others) are just pointing out you lose out on a lot of entries as many people dislike facebook and twitter.

The main negativity in my posts if you actually read them is at my ability to get a decent entry.

Wow what timing OcUK. I am getting my x58 mono from rma soon and I no longer have a CPU for it. I was actually going to hoard my money and buy one of these. Thanks guys for the awesome competitiob and Lets hope I win.

We are not mocking customers! We honestly cannot understand the mentality of the people who do not want to spend 5 mins of their time to have the chance to win a CPU worth over $1k.
We have even given you advice to create a new email account and then afterwards delete all the account of the afore mentioned sites.
