*****Who wants a $1000 INTEL CPU FREE? - COMPETITION TIME!!*****

Which is what I'm doing.

Myself (and some others) are just pointing out you lose out on a lot of entries as many people dislike facebook and twitter.

The main negativity in my posts if you actually read them is at my ability to get a decent entry.

All this means is those that do enter and can be bothered have a better chance of winning. So being negative helps others with better odds of winning. It pays to think positive and enter so you have a chance of winning whilst everyone else who is entering I am sure are smiling like cheshire cats at the prospect of winning such kit knowing that there are so many who do not wish to.

Im thinking one of the requirements should be "post only if you want to enter". That way none of the "raging" you negative people keep referring to would ever happen.

Wouldn't that be a nice :)

Legendary post :D

+1 LOL'd! :D

seriously guys, this is not only a $1000 cpu, but a $1000 unreleased CPU

a CPU that true enthusiasts would give their right arm to own.

i personally would. I have a 6 Core CPU and it is incredible, but this would offer the winner exclusivity for a month or two until the cpu in question is actually released.

seems every time i come on the forums at the moment, someone is moaning about the price of something or at ocuk's intentions.

this is an enthusiast forum, i am sure the enthusiasts on this forum will be scuttling away to get their hands on this baby.

come on guys, its a bit of fun. really no need for the negative attitude.
as part of our forum comunity, you should all be jumping at this opportunity
1. because you post here and its not a bad thing to promote it.
2. because you are a computer enthusiast

this is a bit of fun, if you dont have facebook or twitter then big deal, just mail in instead.

i hope whoever wins the CPU enjoys it anyway, a brilliant prize and a real beast when they are clocked ;)

Just to Clarify, it says:

Must post your photo, link to facebook and twitter status update in a reply to this thread and the status MUST SAY "#OverclockersUK #Intel Competition entry" with the photo attached and LINKED to this thread.

So am I right in guessing, put your Facebook status as "#OverclockersUK #Intel Competition entry", and a link to this thread, and a link to your photo? And post that in this thread?

And then the same as on Twitter?

It's abit confusing at the mo!

EDIT: The # in the status makes sense for Twitter, but you realise it won't do anything on facebook? You have to put a @ sign in front like @OverclockersUk etc.

If anyone can clear this up it's appreciated ;)

Well that contradicts the OP, so which is it?

Well if someone does it that does have friends on twitter or facebook then they will get advertising.

I actively use both and it doesn't affect my life what so ever if I post one status update with a link to OcUK? Hence why I'm entering :D

Yes thats right.

So take picture. Then make a facebook and twitter post, for twitter use # and facebook use @ or no symbol with the status "OverclockersUK Intel Competition Entry"
Link your status update to this thread and attach the image and then post the links to your status update here with your photo. :)

I was just wondering if the discount being offered by Intel to OCUK on the chip concerned is in some way correlated with the number of entrants placing all the free advertising through ******* and Failbook - and if so maybe that's the source of the frankly, startling criticism of OCUK customers by OCUK in this thread?

Seems a great competition to me, got a few ideas.... For the nay sayers keep up the good work fewer entrants equals more chance for me ;) As for the obvious marketing using social media, they're giving away lots of free stuff, they want their pound of flesh and they can have mine!

I have every intention of entering this competition but would just like to point out that if your facebook privacy settings are set to friends only the posting a link to your status will do no good as only you friends would be able to see it (I know this to be true as have been testing it because of work (dont ask))Obviously adding the @Overclockers to the status will link it to the OCUK facebook page, but contents of say my page would not be visible by others who are not I'm my friends list or others subbed to the OCUK page.

I'm a facebook and twitter whore and have very little shame so count me in. People are quite self important sometimes. If you don't have and don't want twitter, move on.

Sadly the 'coolest' thing I do is stand up comedy. The level of cool is somewhat in the eye of the beholder. Would this be ok or are you thinking something more grand?

Competition Instructions

Assuming I follow all the instructions and everything, OcUK still won't be able to see the photo on my Facebook (privacy settings).
Do I then insta-lose?

Also, is the "No purchase necessary" clause relevant to this competition? Can we send you an entry via post like previous comps?

Also also, is it an ES chip (Gibbo mentioned something about ES chips on Page1)? I thought they remained the property of Intel?

I'd be happy to waste five minutes signing up to twitter and facebook, as I've spent longer than that reading through this thread. I'm not entering, as I probably can't write my name in photoshop and don't own a camera. Blurry phone image of monochrome logos stuck to a bicycle probably isn't going to do it somehow.

Some of the posters in this thread have been out of line in the anti-twitter rage. However, it's a public forum. People will say stupid things. OcUK staff should abstain from this as it looks staggeringly unprofessional. These forums are directly tied to your store, so if you have staff members mocking customers on them it looks terrible.

edit: I thought I'd append the posts which I believe are inappropriate. Turns out they're all by Nath. The last time I disagreed with him I was banned for being argumentative.

Its a competition, you don't get any prizes for sitting on your arse moaning.

Next time we shall just mail every OcUK member a brand new 6 core CPU just because we feel so honoured that they even log onto our forum

RAGE POST

No I just skimmed through it with my rose tinted spectacles expecting a $1000 CPU to be delivered to my house.
