I'm seriously thinking about buying one and going back to a single card as SLI is becoming a pain.

So i wanna put a water block on one so i would need the buy a FE card? Would the Titan-XP block fit?

I think I'm very tempted. Not going to rush into it though, will skip Funders and wait for the custom cooler versions.

I'm on a X34 with 980ti which has been doing the job nicely, but some extra performance is nice to have and could be used! Comes at a cost though... jeez!!

On on PG348Q with a 980Ti and agree the card is doing a fine job, but can't help scratching that extra performance itch!

I don't know tbh.

I have a 1080 atm. It's the MSI Gaming X so reasonable re-sale value.

The TI versions will obviously be more powerful, but how much I'm not sure?

Using mine with an Acer X27 1440p g-sync panel, the 1080 plays things fine.

The benefit of the 1080 TI I guess may be the longevity, it's unlikely to be truly beaten until the next "TI" release in the next gen comes along. But the cost of upgrading is also going to be quite high is the new cards are around £700.

that's irrelevant, no one believes marketing stuff like that, the only thing that matters is real world reviews and benchmarks.

Even though benchmarks are not necessarily representive of real world either. We know it's going to be pretty decent however regardless of what the stats from a short scripted gaming sequence provides :D

^ I was waiting for reviews before making a decision on FE vs custom cards. Now that reviews are out and it looks like the FE cooler is limiting the potential, I'll wait for custom cards.

No I will be sticking with my 980ti SLI until the next gen...

I game exclusively at 4k/60 with max settings and the 1080ti needs just a little extra nudge to be consistently over 60fps.

It might be the case that when oc cards are available we see enough advantage to make it a viable option but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass on it..

EDIT: the only thing that interests me with the 1080ti is the extra performance advantage in vr as sli is a no go and I dont know if this will ever be a priority with developers now.
