My brief stint at running crossfire was 10% Joy and 90% frustration/despair. I was lucky enough to return my 2x 390Xs for a Fury X and have been delighted ever since.
The best thing IMO and the only thing I miss about crossfire as how cool the 2 graphics cards looked inside the case.
got to agree with you there, looking at two graphics cards plugged into the motherboard just looks the business
So is a 1070 card ok for 4k gaming? I'm after a 1070 mini .
DX12 is proving to be a massive step back in mGPU performance.
Where it is harder to do mGPU in DX12 game devs are not bothering for DX11 or DX12.
Visually DX12 does not look any different or better than DX11 in games so far.
Worse still performance often drops with DX12.
I was never a great fan of Mantle but it was a lot better than what I have seen of DX12.
DX12 has been full of empty promises but no real substance so far.

GTX 1080 is great in The Division with everything maxed minus Nvidia settings.
Sadly Nvidia Gameworks kills performance for an extremely minor bump in visuals.
Haha when has a minor bump in quality never killed performance lol
Most games are fairly good with visualserformance but any game with Gameworks takes the piddle.
