Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

Wonder if its time for another rebrand yet.

Lets be honest here, most delivery companies are ******* awful. Its a race to the bottom for 90% of them.

I had a very expensive watch delivered by UPS I believe it was. Guy knocked on the door and I was there within 15s. He was putting a 20cm square box under our front door mat and about to leave.

The shipping was very clear that this would require a signature as it was a high value item. It was genuinely comical that he was "hiding" the box under a mat that was barely much bigger than the parcel and actually making it more obvious a parcel was there.

I used to have a "tier" list for delivery companies but honestly the only one I think is really good these days is Royal Mail.

Top tip Evri do not distinguish between next day and 2/3 day services the couriers are expected to deliver them all the same day they land in the local DU
Sure, but with the normal service, it takes 3-4 days before it even gets to the local depot, so the next day service is a lot faster.

all parcels are treated exactly the same once it reaches a hub. or for stuff sent direct with Evri ie parcelshop only execption would be light and large (anything oversized) which would go with specialist couriers or contractors rather than the regular couriers

Our local delivery woman is great although she seems to be working ridiculous hours as we have had deliveries from her at 7.30 in the morning and after 9 at night. The actual company however seems to have gone downhill even more since rebranding and I have had several packages "delayed" at the first hub in the tracking info.

That’s simple to answer. Take the worst delivery company in the world ‘My Hermes’

Change the name to Evri and it’s still the worst delivery company just differently placed ink spots on their letter headed paper!

Funny how much difference there can be in the same companies in different regions.

Trusted in the SE for me - Amazon, DPD, Evri and Parcel Force.
Will pay extra to not use - DHL Local and the Post Office.

Yes there are many more, but above are those mostly used.

No matter where I've lived, Citylink were always terrible. From the support, to the drivers and the local depot staff. Never had a single good experience with them. No tears shed from me when they went under.

Our masters of the magic disappearing parcels were UK Mail, which got bought out by DHL, who built a new expensive base nearby and a new fleet of vehicles, but messed up by taking on many of those that were dipping under the UK Mail name.

Depends on the driver that covers your route, we've had the same guy at work for 5+ years and never had issues, stuff that I get to home is a new driver every few weeks and that's when issues usually occur.

I totally agree, but when 2 out of 5 parcels fall off the radar, with the two being high priced and the other three not so, you start to look at other couriers.

I suspect the issue is with the depot.

Worked for Hermes (now Evri) for 18 months as a depot manager over lockdown everything is about cost

Customers as a whole want cheap or free shipping so retailers will always go down the cheap option. Generally during my time outside of peak(dec) we were hitting 99.7/8% of parcels getting delivered same day they hit the local delivery unit(depot). Don't always get a choice unfortunately its often not stated who the courier is nor do you get a choice its only after the order is confirmed you get told who the delivery company is, I'll avoid if I get the chance
