Why is it that I can guzzle down food almost all day and not get fat?

Iv’e smushed two cans in a blender, drained out the water then sat there eating it with my hands in front of my horrified family. These went normal ones they were the big cheep-O family ones.

Calorie dives are scary…

yeh probably quite bad. Can of tuna is a good protein snack, 27grams of protein, no fat. Can mix it with anything from tomato sauce to branston pickle

There are loads of different varieties of beans besides baked beans (which I assume is what you are thinking of) and they can be eaten raw in a salad or something.
 
Poor sad young fools, up until 23 i weight about 10-11 stone (6'2")

Now at 40 im 16.5 stone and cant shift it though im not fat i could do with losing a stone

Enjoy eating **** while it lasts cos you wont be able to do it forever
 
I have this problem too. I know what the problem is, and it is really simple.

I only eat enough calories to maintain the status quo. I cycle to work, I cycle at least 30 miles every weekend. I go mountaineering and walking. During my day at work I am all over the shop, never sitting still...

So here I am at the ripe old age of 32 eating breakfast, dinner, lunch and snacking on hobnobs, chocolate, fruit and so on...and I weight a massive ten stone with hardly a gramme of fat on my body. I stand at 5' 10"

I need to bulk up as I will be doing more demanding climbs and cycle routes but it is so hard to just be eating all the while. However, working out without the extra food just leads me to look more toned but just a skinny! Bummer

My dad was like me and now he is a fat git! :D
 
heh today I ate:

07:00am - 100g oats with 1 pint of milk
08:00am - 30g whey protein in 200ml milk
10:00am - chicken tikka and mayo sandwhich from the dehli
12:00pm - half an 18inch pizza topped with chicken, 4 seasons cheese
2:00pm - about 50g of salted peanutes with 30g whey protein
4:00pm - slice of cheese


and i havnt even had dinner yet :cool:

today i ate:

two slices of french toast + two tablespoons of golden syrup (one per slice)

one Beef Burger in a Ciabatta roll (with lettuce tomato ans ketchup)

one piece of Salmon Fillet, three new-potatoes and half a leek.

with about two litres of water spread throughout the day

Same here, I could eat tons of food, really crap food as well, not excercise and not put on a pound.

Hit my early 20's and been paying for ever since. Damn exercise and healthy food! :mad:

Believe it or not, I'm the same size and weight as you.

I also cycle everyday, and also eat a fair bit, but remain skinny.

But this week I haven't been out on the bike once, as I've been having to use the car instead, and I've put on a bit of weight, so I think the fact you are getting some excercise if better than none. :)
 
To the OP, just like me mate.

I eat **** loads and never put weight on. Apparently its all down to your/our metabolism.

For example. I have drank around 55 bottles of Stella since Saturday (285ml) had a Curry, Pizza and general crap we eat. I have a fried breakfast at work consisting of bacon, two eggs, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread. Full lunch. Pasta or steak and chips.. depends whats on menu..

I eat 5-6 bags of crisp every night along with said booze plus a late tea time dinner.. My calorie intake must reach 8000ish. never put weight on. I work in Morrisons for a living at the Fish bar. (dont say thats not hard work, it is. if you was in my position).

So im general terms .. go for it.. eat what you can..

EDIT: I am 5,10 and 11 stone.:)
 
Just browsing through this thread and it's shocking to what a lot of the people here know of a decent diet, or even eating a lot. For the people that are posting that you're eating a lot, 99% of you really are not eating a lot. And what you are eating is pretty much all crap.

And a lot of people just jump to the conclusion that their metabolism is all to blame. If you eat smaller meals but more regularly (Every 2-3 hours) you will constantly keep your metabolism higher as when you eat it will boost it. If you eat hefty meals but less times a day your metabolism will speed up and then slow right back down again.

If you're eating loads and not putting on weight you're either not eating as much as you think you are, or you are 100% not eating more calories than you're burning. Obviously genetics plays a part yes, but you can't just always assume your metabolism is to blame. A lot of very very overweight people have very fast metabolisms, it's just down to what you eat when you eat.
 
My diet is non-existant

Today I had :

2 * Apples at around 9am
Home-made curry at 8pm

Some days when I work I'll probably have 2 apples and a bowl of cereal before I go to work. :(

I walk lots (2.5 miles to work) and play football once a week.
 
This thread makes me hungry :( I want a tikka sandwich but I don't know where to get one here :(


^^ right about metabolism. I always hear overweight people say they have slow metabolisms and that is the reason for their weight, when usually it is the opposite, they have faster metabolisms than most average people.
 
Apparently breast milk has been linked to weight gain.

Those who were breast fed as children are less likely to get fat in later life, through eating or though other environmental factors.

Not sure how valid the research was though.

Reason I am asking is. Over the last few days. Sun to today, Wed. I have ate and drank ( I have worked it ourt too) 12lbs of edible food stuffs. I ahve not but on 1 ounce in weight. I work out at work, basicly working. Thats pretty energetic and demanding.
