Will Smith hits Chris Rock on Oscars stage

So fake, Rock sets himself for it. Knowing what he said what else would Smith be coming up to him for.....a hug?
No attempt to defend himself, step back or retaliate.

Got what they wanted, Oscars is in the news.

I think the verbal exchange afterwards from WS was pretty telling that it wasn't fake in my opinion.

Women more so than men have options to cover it up and nobody would be any the wiser. Black women seem to generally wear weaves or full blown wigs as their natural hair seems quite limited in the amount of styles it can achieve vs Caucasian hair. And having looked at some images of her over the years she certainly no stranger to weaves or outright wigs. So in that sense not a lot has changed in regard to her options.

And you're seriously comparing alopecia (which can be a condition that comes and goes) to Motor Neuron Disease? Must be huffing some grade a hash.

.
Gotcha, so any medical issue that can be 'covered up' is comical. Mental health, colostomy bags, --- learning a lot. Cheers pal.

The manufactured outrage is palpable, taking a cosmetic condition and making utterly moronic comparisons to life changing diseases. Is Jada banging you as well per chance? Give yer head a wobble, son.

Sorry - still keeping up - you've now said cosmetic condition; now your point makes sense. So we can make fun of people with disfigurement, cleft lip. Righto!

This part maybe not as swearing as generally frowned upon at these events :p. Possibly went further than planned.

Even Rocks come back about Smith beating the **** outta him and that being the greatest moment in tv history was all too convenient and quickly thought out given what had "unexpectedly" just happened to him.

If none of the incident had been at all scripted, I doubt Smith is still there to collect his Oscar at the end

you can make fun of anyone with any sort of condition if you really want to. just don't be surprised or shocked if you get a slap in the mouth, unless of course they have no arms. :p

Alopecia, the well known medical condition with the horrific symptoms of.... Having to wear a wig if you want a full head of hair.

Could argue no one should make any jokes at all about anyone's physical features, but considering not many people seem to care about jokes about people based on them being short / tall, weedy / muscled, hair colour, complexion (for white people only) etc, treating alopecia as a 'medical condition' which people deserve violence for even joking about just doesn't make sense.

I get that it's more sensitive for women, but no one was defending Trump from the torrent of jokes made about his toupe, let alone claiming he'd be justified in smacking anyone making those jokes.

Right, an asset we all joke about that women love too much and spend far too much cash on. Imagine if your tiny pee pee was on show 24/7 unless covered by a pee pee extender. It leads to clinical depression, even in blokes.

Would take you to try and keep up with your moronic comparisons. Getting alopecia at some point in your life is entirely different to being born with a defect like cleft lip/palate that takes place in the womb during pregnancy.

Alopecia isn't something that is necessarily permanent, Christopher Reeve had bouts of it during his career. Sometimes it stays, sometimes it comes and goes, sometimes people get it once and never again after.

Also, in the land of the free, what happened to "Free Speech" crowd? I bet some of those people who think Chris Rock deserved that slap overlaps a lot with the defenders of Free Speech.

Dr Ejikeme also adds that afro hair has a greater propensity for developing hair loss disorders like traction alopecia (caused by hairstyles which repeatedly pull on the hair) and central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia. "This develops in the middle of the scalp and spreads outwards. It almost looks like Christmas tree," says Dr Ejikeme. "It is the most common form of primary scarring alopecia in people of African descent and affects more women than men." While this disorder is not fully understood, it seems our hair practices (from washing and straightening, to braiding and weave-wearing) result in hair loss and breakage in large numbers.

So straightening, weaves, dyeing, chemicals etc. tends to cause it.

Trump chooses to have a ridiculous hairstyle and spray himself orange. Fair game....particularly as he's fond of publicly mocking disabled people.

Trump doesn't have a wig, that's his natural hair. People were joking about it because it looks like a wig from certain angles.

Trump's hair looks weird because he has scarring on his head from the scalp reduction surgery he received in 1989. That's why his hair is heavily styled to drape over his head.

GOT IT. So you are saying it is not fair to joke about issue that occur in the womb, but "cosmetic conditions" acquired post birth are OK - moles, cysts, burns, skin cancer etc.

But that wasn't the case. You've tried to make some sort of comparison and then failed at it. Don't you agree that your comparison, on reflection, doesn't match the situation here? This would be a better one. Your wife has a funny voice that's all robotic, you go to a comedy club, sit front row. Comedian known for making light jokes at the crowds expense, the comedian, hearing your wife's voice, makes a joke about it and moves on. You then would get on the stage and hit that comedian? You see how it's different to your example of seeing someone on the street and them calling your misses and ugly cow?

I cannot argue with that, you are right, it would be completely different, I’d be annoyed at the alleged comedian but I wouldn’t get on stage and give him a whack.
What I was trying, (badly), to say was that Smith wouldn’t have been apprehensive about slapping Statham, because Statham isn’t necessarily a tough guy, he’s just known for portraying tough guys.

So now you're making a joke about me having a tiny pee pee at the same time as saying it can lead to clinical depression? Am I allowed to come and slap you under your rules now then?

Jada seemed pretty confident with her shaved head look, so a wig isn't even an issue in this case. But I doubt she would suffer any financial hardship at all from having to buy wigs. She's kind of a multi millionaire if you hadn't noticed.

So you can make fun of folk if they can afford to cover it up?:cry::cry:
