Does that mean you wont have the WIFI bolt-on? Trying to work out the cost at the moment myself PAYG iPhone3GS to Simplicity but my figures scare me :(

ps3ud0

Nope, the O2 Simplicity offer an inclusive bolt on, for that its "Unlimited Web Bolt On".

I'm thinking the Simplicity route is possibly the most ideal, its month by month (12 months = 33% more minutes/texts) and come the next iPhone i can either buy the PAYG phone, or start a new contract while selling that current phone. Just gotta decide, do i wanna pay that much up front, or just spend a bit more a month (I'm already paying £42.50 anyway!).

I voted Yes.

Finally the iPhone they should have launched on day one - 3G, MMS and enough capacity to replace my 20GB iPod. Shame I can't get one on T-Mobile, but hey.

What is the ringtone customisation / volume on these now?

I got a 2G iPhone on launch and shifted within 6months purely because the ringtone volume was pathetic and the ability to simply assign an mp3 or similar was a joke...

It may seem stupid but unless this aspect is different on the newer 3G / V 3.0 OS then I may just wait out for the N97 as my contract is now up with O2

No, Video Recording isn't a feature that comes with 3.0 OS - instead it comes in the 3G. This is purely because the iPhone 3G has a camera only capable of taking pictures, whereas the iPhone 3G can take pictures at 3MP and videos at 30fps VGA.

You do know why movies are called 'movies' don't you? :D

Im not going to be upgrading my 3G. The faster internet is the only real differance i can see thats worth it on the 3Gs, Everything else can be done, or be close to it.

The fact the new iphone has more ram etc. and is fast is no good because there is an JB app that enables "Gaming Mode" where it frees up more memory so GFX intense games done crash.

Video recording, had that for ages. The better camera is hardly worth it either for what i use it for, as its mainly just for facebook upload pics, if i need to so anything better ill use my real camera.

And we get pretty much everything else in the 3.0 upgrade anyway. Maybe if the phone looked like an upfgrade instead of the same looks i might be tempted, especialy if there was less black and more screen. But the 3G is far too close to think about upgrading and loosing more money, infact even if i had a 2g i wouldn't upgrade

To damn loud on full lol, scares the **** out of me if somone rings me when im asleep :o

Nope.

I have a 3G on PAYG and I'll be putting OS 3.0 on it and enjoying that. There's no way I can justify the price of the 3Gs against its cost.

Got a 3G on release day so no need to upgrade yet at these prices. I will see what happens after my remaining 6 months and then decide whether it's worth getting a 3G S or waiting for 6 months to see what the new iPhone is like...

Just incase anyone missed it, 02 will allow you to upgrade 6 months early under their "Priority List" scheme. Catch is, you have to be spending £100 a MONTH on a tariff

£35 / month (which most people are on) only entitles you to 1 month early, which works out as December for the earliest 3G owners.

is there a list of 3GS tarriffs and PAYG pricing anywhere, and will the 3G prices likely change oonce 3GS is launched, or will it continue to run alongside 3GS?

Waiting to jump on the iPhone bandgwagon, but would be happy with a "cheap" 3G. What i dont want is to pay over the odds for a 3G now, and then see it drop through the floor on the 19th - i'd rather wait and buy the 3GS.

The price of the 3G is comming down (I thought it already had?)

Pay monthly : http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/paymonth.html
PAYG : http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/paygo.html
Business : http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/business.html
Corporate : http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/corporate.html

Essentially, the iPhone 3G (8GB) will be £96.89 on 18 month tariffs, £35 and under. Free for those on £45 / £75 a month tariffs.

That price is available now.. the 3G is different, so check above.

I want it for the camera but it is far too pricy to even think about really, being only 18 and earning only 600 quid a month for a little longer until I complete training I'm not going to blow 400 quid on that, I'd get a proper camera if I were that fussed, maybe if it were 155 pounds like the 3G was to upgrade.

Am I right in thinking that you sign up to a certain iPhone tariff, then pay for unlimited internet and now they want you to pay extra for internet tethering to use it as a modem for your PC?!

If I got an unlimited internet bolt on for my current contract, could I plug my N95 8Gb into my laptop and get unlimited mobile internet without the extra expense of an internet tethering bolt on?

I'm upgrading to this, as that's when my nice tax rebate is due :D :p (I need spoiling)
Hopefully there is some type of offer on when I do though...
