Windows 10 Game Mode these results look promising

Well only game I play right now is World of Tanks and that is an absolute mess after this update in general. Dropped around third off my FPS and get awful periods of slowdown that feel like the laptop is throttling when it's not. I'll reinstall the game tonight to see if that fixes it.
 
I tried this out briefly last night and it caused my Xbox controller to stop working. It does, however, seem to have improved FPS slightly.
 
Not received this new update yet. Thought it had downloaded last night as my Wife and I had updates on our PC's but turned out it was just

using the Upgrade Assistant on the above link to get Creators Update manually.
 
well.. looks like is video's driver related... any game that uses crossfire in full screen is freezing...
Will reinstall the drivers and try again.

Don't think its just crossfire, only have 1 card and every game was locking (on 17.4.2), spoke to ms and they said roll back.
 
I was using the 16.11.5, I don't like the Relive drivers and they don't like me :)

Will try the new driver and with the old one again, if it doesn't work I will roll back.
 
Did the Creator update manually and now have this silly Windows Defender Security Centre thing.

Where has Control Panel gone ? Its missing off the right click on Windows icon bottom left.
 
MSI AB or/and rivatuner was causing my gta 5 launcher to crash, not had any crashes with other games though.

Although gta 5 crashes when I go to the graphics settings/tab....

Control panel is hidden. Type control in to the 'Ask me anything' bar and your find it.

I imagine, this is one step towards them getting rid of the control panel altogether. :o
 
I wonder if this 'Game Mode' will stop W10 from constantly performing all manner of activity in the background when I'm trying to do stuff, which at times causes things to grind to a halt. Example, was playing EVE the other night and W10 decided that that would be a good time to run something called Compatelrunner.exe, this despite me having edited the relevant entries in Task Scheduler to prevent this rubbish from running. That's just one example, currently it's decided to download an update, right in the middle of me enjoying another game. Had to quit and am now waiting for the update to download. And don't get me started on how ******* long W10 takes to download a ******* update.
 
Am I being thick? It's enabled in game mode settings, but any game I launch, if I hit Win + g, no window pops up?
