Windows 10

Never heard of that site before, looks interesting, will check it out. :)

I'm soooo tempted to stick this on my PC. That said I have no issues with win8.1 + Classic Shell tbh, decisions, decisions....
Ninite is amazing for formatting. Does so much of the work of installing all general purpose apps with no prompts.

Yeah looks it, cant believe its passed me by, and the fact it doesn't install the extra crap like toolbars and such is a win.

I used disk clean up to remove the old windows installation and it inadvertently removed all my start menu items from my previous installation without actually removing any of the applications. I was a bit worried as i thought it went and removed all the applications but it only removed the start menu items. Very annoying.

The more i use it the more i find all sorts of annoying changes. They have removed the right click context menu from the start menu, now there is no rename, delete or properties. Very annoying.

Currently Windows 10 just looks like Window 8 with a start bar, it's even still running IE11

I know it's only RC but was hoping for a little more

But it isn't a Release Candidate? It's a technical preview build.

I don't think that they've removed it per se, they just haven't gotten around to putting it into the new start menu yet ;)

It's still only preview so expect some more new features etc by time its final, also remember the main issues was the old Start menu missing for a few users with Win8/8.1,Win10 Start menu should keep them happy.

You may get Win10 free for Win8 users(not confirmed yet) and DX12,improved Start menu etc so end of the day you are in a win win situation.

Btw what was you hoping for?

Exactly I think some users are getting confused, preview is a beta light version of final build with features/stuff missing etc, don't forget the bug fixing and tweaking Microsoft will do down the road as well.

W8 was showcased at developer preview and then latter consumer preview. Developer preview was released 13months before general sale of windows 8.

With windows 10 were at technical preview which is before even developer preview.

Seems laptop drained so fast for two reason, it's not switching to battery power mode when unplugged and it's constantly using gfx card, instead of using on board graphics for most tasks.

My favourite feedback so far is some guy asking them to add more screen savers because the isn't enough choice, I didn't know CRT monitors were still a thing :P

Having a bit of a play with this, I like the 4 way snap, start bar works well enough, mix of old and new.
Theres a bit in the video's showing a popup when keyboards are connected and disconnected, not getting that on my original Pro that I have dropped it on...

That's called continuum, it's not in the technical preview yet.

its basically like windows 7 & 8 had a baby and only the good bits of both went over

Or Win8.1 with improved Win7 Start menu with live tiles, also the option to have Start Screen on desktop for touch users etc...

It should keep a lot of people happy, since they can choose what they prefer.

On top of that what ever they've done under the hood, will do under the hood and features that will be put in there.

People seem to forget this is a technical preview. It's earlier in development, than we've ever seen before.
