Windows 10

If it's like Windows 8 / 8.1 for a local account:

Enter username and password randomly into Sign In (i.e. [email protected] password: anything) until it fails. It will then say do you want to create a local account after getting it wrong twice (one time you will have to enter captcha). Alternatively don't connect it to the internet :)

You can also turn the swipe (or press a key if you don't want to swipe) off by using a local policy.

1.Still have to use a Windows live account,Cant use a Local account straight away..i know you can create a local after but its a lot of faff if you don't want to use your Live account.

Disconnect from the internet when installing and then you'll need to make a local only account.

Or just click "Create a new account" then "Sign in without a Microsoft account" ...

Ta-dah, Windows 8 or 10 install with no Live account...

My download speed through Intel Ethernet seems to be a little nerfed? Just me or driver issue?

EDIT:

Was my connection, not the computer :)

I'm liking it.

Coming direct from Windows 7 in a Corporate environment its easy enough to use. Trying to get my head around some of the newer features and having a good old play.

Was brave enough to risk a direct upgrade over my Windows 7 install. No problems, all previously installed applications working fine.

Yeah, I'm liking it a lot.

This. It's actually one of the few things people complain about in Windows 8.1/10 which is a non-issue...

and if you make a live account, then type netplwiz into command prompt.

A popup appears that lets you prevent it asking for a password every time you login.

You get all the live account features

You get rid of the need to sign in each time.

Its really starting to irk me that people are still complaining about this, its been here since win8 developer preview.

I know right, if people spent half as much time looking for solutions as they do pointless moaning then the world would be a better place.

Joined the insider program yesterday, and just downloaded the ISO. Will get this up and running on a fresh install later to see what it's like

Doing a fresh install with the Enterprise version, everything going great so far. Using the default start menu this time, un-pinned all the 'Apps' and it looks pretty cool now, setup just how I like it and no need for third party start menu anymore.

Really liking W10 tbh, looking forward to final release, this should do nicely until then.
