Windows 10

How OS speeds compare to Win 8.1? (i.e. boot up, general folder browsing, etc)

For me boot up was about the same (it's so quick on my SSD it couldn't get much faster anyway). But somehow using it seems much snappier, I click a program and it feels like there's no delay at all it just opens there and then!

Well this is just a giant pain in the arse, keeps trying to instal the HD4000 driver which just crashes my system and then boots me to a black screen. Which nonce decided automatic installations were a good idea.

To disable Windows Update auto installing drivers.
Control Panel - System and Security - System - Advanced System Settings - Hardware - Device Installation Properties
Turn off the Always install drivers through updates.

It seems to be some sort of GUI bug or something. Once I create the documents folder on my E drive and then change the location of the C drive documents to E. If I create a text file or something in the new E documents folder, once it's created the Documents duplicates in the side bar.

If I refresh the side bar it instantly disappears. It's annoying because it makes me wonder if I'm doing it right!

Think I'm just going to have to live with it! Tried a few other things and can't seem to stop it :(

Pinning items to task bar is creating duplicate icons when opened grr. Have tried to pin from the original .exe not the shortcut and it's still happening.

Anyone got around this?

I bought a laptop with a Win 7 OEM license on it. I took the drive that came with it out and put in my own SSD. I built another version of 7 on as I didn't have the correct ISO. Using a technet key which won't let me upgrade to 10.

Am I right in thinking I can put the old drive in with the OEM license on, upgrade to 10, then fresh install onto the SSD once activated?

Correct, that is what your looking to do.

After Microsoft will have your Hardware Hash.

TLDR: I bought five computers, Microsoft game me another twenty O/S keys for free and let me buy another five for 30% RRP.
Remember though that valid key does not equal valid licence.

If they were to audit you, you have 5 full licences and 5 ineligible upgrade licences.
