Windows 10

You can pin your regularly used items to the right hand side of the start menu as tiles.

And you don't get the menus when you press Alt any more as dem menus be gone! Explorer is now all ribbon based.

I don't want an all ribbon Explorer! It's bad enough dealing with it in Office 2013/365 :S

Yuck, I've never found ribbons anything but tedious.

So, is it just me or has it become rather unstable of late? Start bar icons bugging, file exploring going wonky, desktop wallpaper disappearing etc?

Extremely buggy, I've moved back to 8.1 for the time being.

I'm actually impressed with how much has started going wrong when it has been solid for a good while (after experiencing cold boot issues on the first build).
I guess all the issues are relating to some GUI bug, that makes more sense than a hole host of bugs appearing in the start bar, file explorer, desktop background etc.

Hopefully a fix soon as I'm reluctant to go back to 7 now.

I really liked it but kept getting hard lockups with screen corruption. Apart from that it was fine so it's very disappointing.

I just chalked it up to early drivers and reinstalled 7. I'll most likely give it a go with the Consumer Preview and/or some official W10 drivers.

i had problems running CSGO on windows 10.

got a AMD HD 5830, latest GPU drivers installed and every time the game loaded full screen it would be just a black screen and could only hear the game.

when i ran it in windowed mode the game was fine.

couldn't find a fix so went back to 8.1

ive even installed the web installer thing for directx and the card one sec were normal then it went to black, ive had no problems playing wow, in hearthstone the cards are black and sometimes you get these green graphics effect instead of the normal graphical effect. Overall i like windows 10s, especially the start button but i dont know if i can put up with that. Im pretty sure there is a fix but i cant find it, thats why im wondering if anyone has fixed these graphical issues

If anyone is having problems running a game, it could well be missing some dlls. Which steam isn't telling you about.

But if you go find the application in the steam folder and launch it manually, it should tell you.

Most likely dx9 and c++ 2010 dlls, with c++ remember to install x86 even if you have x64 os, as the game will almost certainly be installed in the x86 folder. Or just install both.

If people are having problems they are missing DX9 which you can't install unless you install .net 3.5 beforehand, mount your image or insert your install media and go to admin elevated command prompt and put:

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:X:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess

Where X: is your installation media drive letter, then install DX9 and you shouldn't have any further problems. I play CS:GO every day and it plays fine, even completed AC Unity on Windows 10.
