Windows 10

apart from the start menu (I prefer the windows 7 one) I like windows 10 but will need to buy a copy.

to get around this I just install classic shell

Realy not liking this new build.

No transparency on the start menu or taskbar and unable to remove this stupid "recently added" from my work pc. The large start menu is also ridiculous and annoying.

teamviewer performance is strangely bad.

Anyone else have this stupid "explore windows" and "everyday apps" in the middle of that annoying block section of the startmenu?

They have literally ignored every single bit of feedback and just done what they wanted anyway, so i am not going to bother giving any more feedback, a waste of time.

has anyone installed it yet as their main OS?

tempted to give it a try

Installed it on my home machine, but other than running a Plex Server and web browsing I use it for very little, so there are no obvious issues that I have run into so far.

The icons are pitiful. My god are they pitiful. The music icon, Lol!

Reminds me of this...

may install it as my main OS tonight and see how it goes, last build I had issues gaming on it so went back to 7 so hoping this will sort it out

I read that Windows 10 will be free for Windows 7 users (for the first year or so). That would be really good if it's true. I have had plenty of negative experiences with Microsoft but Satya Nadella sounds like a great guy, maybe he really can make MS a bit more customer-oriented. I wonder if this was his decision. Big thumbs up if it comes to pass anyway. A step in the right direction for MS.

Had it on my work laptop since it came out. Stuck it on my main PC last night. I think its very good, mind you I thought 8.1 was great as well. Dont see what all the love for 7 is about, when I go to my dads and use his PC on 7 I find it flippin terrible. Each to their own I guess.

Is the key logger people were worried about with this real ?

Just read the TOS and it seems it could be.

In keyboard options you can go in and disable the auto correct language settings. Its for tablets and I dont know of any other setting thats logging key strokes.

If you want less loggin you can disable some of the services used for reporting back to ms. Also note that the windows feedback app makes a note of your running applications and the titles so don't use an ms account or open windows feedback if you concerned.

When signing in if you say you dont have an ms account it brings up an option at the bottom for using local account only. That is what i do.
