Windows 10

I note the preview ends on 15th April. Does that mean it stops functioning? I was hoping to use it until 10 was officially released to save buying windows 8.

Yeah I noticed and wondered what will happen after Technical/Consumer Preview ended. Will we see Release Preview or RTM version? I think Windows 10 Technical/Consumer Preview will stop functioning and restart every 2 hours like it did with Windows 8.1 Preview will need update to Windows 8.1 RTM.

I found it interesting, look like we all will be in a big surprise after 15 April.

Windows 10 will continue virues malwares & hardware drivers forced us to buy new hardwares to support Windows 10 etc. Linux Mint doesn't!

The worse part in Windows, I getting fed up of windows updated, rebooted etc. Linux Mint doesn't do this. I can choose when to updated etc.

Activate? With all the various builds I have installed them, never been asked for a registration code and they have always shown up as activated. I just booted up my laptop to check and that still applies.

Nope! They all installed and activated without my help.

Are you using the same email address as your login as the Windows Insiders registered name? Maybe these are needed to do the activation?

You can also choose when to update Windows by going into update settings...

And your other points: Viruses/Malware exist on all platforms, hardware drivers also exist in Linux, they are necessary for hardware to talk to software and as far as new hardware goes Windows 10 will have similar hardware requirements to Windows Vista (like 7, 8 and 8.1) have.

If you prefer Linux that's fine, but don't try to spout out nonsense and expect us to listen.

Windows 10 are very ugly! Don't like the new build. Horrible search bar, horrible forced you to have microsoft account to use some features. Don't like it at all. I am sorry Microsoft, you are going downfall in my view!

Too early to judge Win10,remember it's still only a preview build and expect quite a few new builds between now and RTM,so in fairness we can't really judge Win10 until RTM build, everything before then is really for testing/feedback only.
Also remember Win7/8/8.1 users get it free for life if they upgrade within the first year,so you can't really complain that much end of the day.

Also I'm sure there will be some third party UI themes etc to make it look better, just like the ones you can get for Win8.1 right now.
Bottomline wait for the final build before judging Win10.

I can see that the interface isn't going to be to everyone's taste as it is installed but there's a lot one can do to improve it. The task panel on the Start Menu is a lot worse than the last build but enough people comment on it, there's a high chance it will revert to something better.

As to using the Microsoft account - why not. It's your like to On Drive which is useful in itself!

Once the start menu reg key is fixed it is good. I dislike that new start menu and search box, hope they don't be stupid and remove the reg fix like last time.

I think its just my work pc that won't activate. strange. It wont' accept the key on the website.

Why wont this batch file share my folders with win10, it worked on 7..........?
