I have download a proper 10041 x64 UK ISO direct from Microsoft (Inside Windows) and I have installed onto my SSD after secure erase it. Everything work fine now. Going to upgrade to 10049 from windows update (under fast)

Edited: the windows update was pretty very slow to downloading (there is no MB/s or GB/s file size showing at all) god, I hate this!

I'm going to try now, but I had to wait for the iso of 10041 as it wouldn't update via windows update as it would disconnect all the time.

U can get it off Microsoft here: https://insider.windows.com/ the ISO file are there for build 10041

Upgrading from 10041 to 10049 is rather annoying so slow! Approx up to 50 minutes on a fast SSD! No wonder we need ISO 10049.

It's extremely slow, but just let it be. Mine stayed on 3% for over an hour on it's own.

It's a fast update, it's about updates to features, rather than optimisation. Not much point in wasting time optimizing. When these steps aren't going to be in final release.
Part and parcel of beta software, just normal beta software is much smaller than a full os.

Thankfully i'm at 13% downloaded and no disconnects so far....

Spoke to soon. already restarted 3 times and now stuck at around 7%..... grrhrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhh

On 1049 now, downloade fairly quick and installed quick too onto an SSD. Loving W10 so far, though I can't seem to get my Asus D2X to work.

Did you try the Smartglass app or the BETA Smartglass app?

I'm not sure what app I used, it was certainly a beta app though.

Installed build 10049 yesterday - upgraded from previous build, and after an eternity it finally loaded up. Looking good except I have one frustrating problem - it wont shut down, keeps going back to the lock screen, anybody else getting this, or any ideas how to fix?

I can't turn my PC off, the screen turns off but PC remains going.
Have to keep hold of the button.

I stupidly started the update around 11:20 last night. I had to stay up until it finished at 12:40 in order to turn my PC off and go to bed!

My only grievance is every update Sky Go decides I have a whole new PC and won't let me watch media on my 'unregistered device'. Quite annoying when you are only allowed to make one device change per month.

Initial impressions from Spartan is that it has a clean look, however Chrome appears to be faster.

Hopefully there will be a fix - but I will report it to MS. Strange because all the previous builds turned off fine for me and sleep mode worked as well. sleep no longer works either in this build.
