Coming down heavy here and have been for a couple of hours. I'm not long back in and no sign of the roads being cleared, was just getting to the point that it was getting a little sketchy. The remnants of the last deposit were still there, but its supposed to be warming up tonight and dont expect much of the snow to be left in the morning.

Sadly its looking like that is going to be the theme for this winter and what is left of it - unsettled conditions with the odd days of snow mixed with rain and wind without any one weather pattern becoming dominant for any length of time.

Was hoping we'd descend into a colder spell before it was over but current forecasts not looking like that - just a continuation of patchy weather.

I love the street and houses not seen anything like that before there huge :)

They might well be modernised tenement buildings. Very nice now, but possibly with a grim past.

(Whole families living in one room, one loo, one water tap/stairwell, and so on)

Sadly many (Most) tenements were demolished and replaced with tower blocks. beneath the 19th/ early 20th century squalor, the tenements were quite well built and the remaining ones that have been modernised and turned into apartments are really rather nice.

It's snowing, not much at the moment!

So far everyone on the weather forums is looking towards a major cold attack mid feb 0-o

One person mentions SSW and suddenly everyone is convinced - the actual data is as normal unfortunately inconclusive.

Looks like the next few days is going to be close but no cigar for most except those at altitude - 1C too warm for lowland snow by the looks of it.
