woke up cold at 5am, turns out the boiler broke around midnight, its a new one i only had it fitted last week :(
they should be here any minute to take a look for me, boiler shows error code 28 which after a good search suggests that the flue thermistor has gone

Guy who fitted mine posted this earlier on Facebook:

if you have a condensing combi boiler and it is showing a error code and went off check your pressure is inbetween 1 and 2 and the white condensing pipe that sometimes runs outside into a drain etc WILL be frozen pour a kettle of water over it before phoning out a engineer and avoid your self unnecessary costs to your self. if you have a baxi or a potterton boiler I think the fault code is e28 which will be flashing on the display screen.

In the delightful Lordshill It's settled too, just about. Ive been told I can work at home if needed but the Motorway and main roads looks clear tbh. Although don't want to get stuck in segensworth if the main snowfall happens at mid day
I drove out to Totton and back, couldn't even get the traction control to cut in, rubbish so far :p

I managed to get the tail right out while pulling out of a T-junction in the gt86 a couple of days ago at under 10mph. Even with TC fully on :D

The guy in a Mustang behind me wouldn't play though :/

Odds are there was a touch too much moisture in the exhaust flue and that's now frozen, blocking it up. If you can get access, gently warming it with a hairdryer should provide a temporary fix

yep it was frozen, but its been temp fixed for now, basically they added an internal pipe so it can drain into a bucket rather than it using the frozen external pipe, they'l switch it back to external draining once the weather warms up a bit

Utterly disappointing here. (shouldn't complain, just thought we were due to cop for it) Roads are pretty much clear, with verges having about an inch at best, apart from where it's blown into little drifts. Odd really as we're about 200m above sea level and normally have something most years. Bitterly cold though, it froze the waste pipe to the bathroom wash basin just before it entered the main soil pipe. Queue heat-gun and step-ladder and swearing...

Been snowing quite consistently through the night here in Fife, still a good few inches on the ground and most of the roads are a useless.

Can just make out the top of the crane at Rosyth dockyard where the new carriers are built

View from my staircase window; South towards the Forth bridges, you can just about see them through the houses.

Hundreds of motorists were facing the prospect of a freezing night trapped in their vehicles after they became stranded on one of Scotland’s busiest motorways.

The M80 between Glasgow and Stirling was gridlocked in two separate locations northbound after jack-knifed lorries and accidents caused huge tailbacks.

left work at 11am yesterday and not going to bother today - the depth is fine, its the fact that its so cold the roads are not clear and as i get the bus i will be pretty stuck trying to get back.

Update guys, brace yourselves :D

Worst SNOW STORM in 50 years to hit in SEVEN HOURS - Killer Storm Emma to SMASH entire UKBRITAIN is less than seven hours away from what could be the worst snow storm in more than half a century.

Strong winds will whip up snowdrifts several feet deep which threaten to leave swathes of the country buried until mid-March.
The Met Office said Britain is facing the longest cold snap since 1991 with freezing temperatures set to hold out until mid-March.

Witts Hill Weather Underground station reported -5C a few moments ago, with 41kph NE gust making it feel like -15.6C!

Not so keen on the idea of a pleasure studded tyre bike ride now.;)

Very windy in East Cheshire and snow still falling. Had fun sledging yesterday.

Our work site in Erskine\glasgow (several thousand employees) is shut down. Some colleagues showing a good 1ft of snowfall up there.

About 4-5 inches here in Derby and still coming down. Main roads are bad and roads that havnt been gritted, like my estate, are terrible. Not really the best conditions for 360bhp and RWD.. And not great tyres.. Managed to make it to work but more worried about getting home.

That said the bloke in the Lambo that was posted online out in the snow was probably having more fun.

Office has just been closed here in Cardiff with Red Weather warning for this afternoon.

Only light snow right now, nothing too bad yet so I'm working on (got stuff to do), but already public transport is affected and the heavy stuff is almost 5 hours away.

Darn, not much snow forecast tomorrow. Hopefully another snow day. 4 day weekend!

Yeah BBC seem to have revised their forecast for tomorrow, everywhere else though still shows a huge dump heading our way. Even the BBC app still shows a massive amount of snow, but their actual broadcast doesn't

Kinda funny watching people vacate the building with less than a centimeter of snow on the ground and nothing falling. You'd think they'd wait until mid day at least. :o
