Snowing now in Southampton but just had an hour of rain so it won't settle
I'm expecting it to be like an ice rink out there this morning when I head off at ~0600, spiked tyres on the bike so should be fine cycling, just hope I stay upright when walking from ~1000.
It is weird here (South Somerset) only -0.6C but quite a hard frost mixed with a paltry amount of snow that has suddenly come out of nowhere - the roads are incredibly treacherous.
EDIT: It is now snowing hard - that was unexpected - doubt it will stick around long once the day gets going though.

We've ended up with around an inch or so surprisingly though already it is starting to turn to sleet and probably be all gone in a couple of hours. It actually snowed reasonably heavily but temperatures too marginal for significant accumulation.
It was -2C this morning and now up to -0.6C - everywhere was crisp and icy and out of the blue it snowed quite heavy - instantly stuck but it's stopped as suddenly as it started - Cat is happy as I rang and cancelled a visit to Vet.
I caught the tail end of the BBC weather forecast this morning. Parts of the USA are seeing -27, with wind chill it's more like -45. People are turning up in the ER with frostbite and hypothermia. We haven't had a severe winter since 1981/2. Ironic really every man and his dog drives and SUV of some flavor yet the roads are gridlocked if we have more that 3 consecutive flakes of snow. In 1962 there was snow on the ground in much of the UK from Boxing day to early march.

A little snow but mostly ice this morning. I thus far have managed not to fall on my arse.
Most are 2WD and useless! 2cm of snow and the media acts like the world will end.
Yeah I realise that, but their sales are climbing year on year. Apparently it's a "Life-style" statement, whatever that is, LOL. To be fair, it's next to nowt but it is treacherous under foot. I would imagine A&E will be full of walking wounded this morning.

This year I bought some winter tyres (and new alloys to go with).
First time to properly test them this morning and worked like a dream. Normally can't get out of my street after it snows but no problem with these on.
Sadly, the rest of the traffic on the road meant I had to turn around and come home after travelling just 10 miles in 2 hours - not even halfway to work!

Nowt here but wet roads on the NW coast, not even any frost or ice

) personally if my numbers ever came up on the lottery i'd be in northern Norway in a heartbeat.

Very strange weather last night heavy rain mixed with wet snow - pavements were covered in an inch of wet slush and slippery made driving an interesting experience. Temperature was 1c so not quite cold enough to lay. By 10pm it actually started to settle, naturally it stopped soon after so not a trace today and bone dry now. Lovely blue skies not a cloud in the sky though.

I find that there are some incredibly selfish opinions about the weather in this thread at times.
