Exactly, they were 8, 10 and 11 boys are going to be boys. I was out playing at that age and I'm sure most people on this forum were too, including Adam. Then again, there are some sheltered people on this forum.

A horrible tragedy, rip.
100% we were always out and getting into places we probably shouldnt have like climbing onto the school roofs to collect tennis balls.

I've got a horrible feeling the 6 year old is going to be one of the other kids brothers or similar :(

Slight error as I had summer screen wash in the car, thought fuse but just solid, used hot water and -10 screen wash to flush through, after my journey.(not on a cold screen)
Roads pretty much clear but mine still bad

When I was around that age which was when we used to get snow that would be higher than the hedgerow, I used to play on my own building tunnels in the drifts.
Thinking back you realise how dangerous that was if they collapsed, especially on my own.

Not sure if I would have got out being on my own and they weren't like some little thing, I spent hours digging them out and crawling through.

Makes one think about public information films like Dark and Lonely Water. A showing of those on TV wouldn't go amiss... but no, buy buy buy instead!

Anyone else notice how cold the cold water is now after 2 weeks of very cold weather.

No more rinsing off in the shower with the cold only tap!

relations now have a mira remote/puck for the shower, would be useful to modulate teenagers shower time, sounds masochistic otherwise - ok, a pink thing.

yes like this summers heatwave drownings, that also had inadequate proactive safety films - hope schools take note.

roads well salted in Cambs .. bike chain doesn't like that, definitely colder than yesterday

It didn't get as cold as I feared last night and bottomed out at -9.8 degrees C. It's warmed up to -4.7 degrees C now as well but we have been having really heavy snow showers all morning and now have another good 4 inches or so of snow.

Can't wait to walk the gauntlet of ungritted roads and pavements later. Almost decked it numerous times yesterday, today might be the day I go for a tumble.
