Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

I remember reading once that a great many of the titanic victims died of thermal shock or hypothermia within 15 minutes of entering the water

Wearing very thick, chunky socks. I remember thinking they were boring presents when I was a nipper,
which is understandable to some degree, though these days I'm not complaining. :D :)
 
just looked on my weather app for the next 48 hours

Thursday early morning (when i goto work and work semi-outside) it will be -8 here, thats the first time i think, its been as low as that here in South oxfordshire near the bucks border

Gambled and parked in the drive up my hill, the potential snow was just a slight flurry so no trouble getting down (if you do it wrong your in big danger) the packed ice has virtually gone.
Edit it's definitely worth getting the extreme screenwash ,think I was lucky not to have a burst washer jet pipe this week, done this before and it was right under the wheel arch trim where the reservoir is
2nd edit, cars arriving at work covered in thick snow so I was lucky

It still hit the iceburg though. "ICEBURRRG RIGHT AHEAAAAD".
 
If you are up to your waist in freezing water and the only thing to try and get purchase on to pull yourself out with is wet slippery ice all around you, then sorry but you are not getting out and you are getting weaker with cold by the second.
