Torrential rain and a positively balmy 3C here currently, lovely.
We had rain last night and this morning was already a slippery mess. First corner and the car went straight on lol, the rest of the journey was fine as the main roads were gritted pretty well. It’ll be an interesting few hours when the rain falls onto all this ice.
Make sense to me. Heating a small couple of meters square, rather than an entire house? No chance it's cheaper than central heating.
2 quid an hour to heat the whole house or 36p an hour to heat a single room.No chance it's cheaper than central heating.
Yeah because that's a fair comparison central heating the house Vs electric heating a room.Make sense to me. Heating a small couple of meters square, rather than an entire house?
Lol dude....come on now...Yeah because that's a fair comparison central heating the house Vs electric heating a room.
Why are you not comparing central heating a room Vs electric heating a room?
Cold dry and crisp has been replaced by wet and horrid. I also am yet to be convinced it's an improvement.Torrential rain and a positively balmy 3C here currently, lovely.
I didn't decide on the comparison. That was decided in post 1099. We were discussing someone's oil heater, right? Why are you not comparing central heating a room Vs electric heating a room?
A 100% efficient 2kw device isnt going to be cheaper than a 70-90% efficient 32kw boiler? Please explain the rationale. No chance it's cheaper than central heating.
Pretty much yeah, the smaller the air mass you heating, the cheaper it is, which is why electric blankets are the boss, they only have to heat that little gap between the blanket and body.Make sense to me. Heating a small couple of meters square, rather than an entire house?
Heating a single room you may be right, but central heating heats an entire house, a 2kw device doesn't.A 100% efficient 2kw device isnt going to be cheaper than a 70-90% efficient 32kw boiler? Please explain the rationale.
To be honest with logic like this I don't think explaining it is going to help.A 100% efficient 2kw device isnt going to be cheaper than a 70-90% efficient 32kw boiler? Please explain the rationale.
11.2C at coming up to 8 PM, that's one hell of a change in the weather.
with a good duvet , electric blanket is largely redundant , just a pre-heatPretty much yeah, the smaller the air mass you heating, the cheaper it is, which is why electric blankets are the boss, they only have to heat that little gap between the blanket and body.
Screwfix and Tool Station are your best bet imo. Homebase has outrageous pricing for radiators.
No idea, looks outrageously overkill lol. I went for this, it works well:Is this oil heater any good?
