Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

If our house wasn't a thermal sieve I would love the cold, crisp weather we had last week. This is peak grotty British winter. Wet, windy and you aren't quite sure if the sun has come up at any point in the day.

Its amazing, this forum is full of people who use no gas. You are all well below the average in this country. You are the outliers.
I've averaged £5.68/day in the last 7 days, that's including standing charge, or £39.79 for the whole week. Thermostat has been on 19ºC nearly all day, every day, only back down to 16ºC overnight.

So much milder today. Of course its chucking it down. Helps the bills I guess. Huge difference between 13C and -9 vs the house temp. Much prefer this, didn’t have to deice the car either, just jump in and go.

Reading our local rag this morning and Fire brigade has been out to numerous burst pipes. Also centre page is full of snow scenes from the past. We haven't had a lot of snow in recent year's.

12C here but it's doing the thing I hate most -It's windy which = runny nose and eyes -constant - lean forward and glasses get a big blob of tears on them - nose drops loads of snot in your mouth so spitting all time - OH the joys of getting old.
Yes I have loads of tissues but you can't keep it up all the time.

Currently suffering from cognitive dissonance, what with it feeling warmer outside the house than inside. The thermostat says 14 degrees, outside temp is 13 and "warmer" despite the wind. But at least my washing's drying in the conservatory and no pipes are currently leaking.

It feels like winter's setting us up for a sucker punch though!
