- title sequence was rubbish
I thought the title sequence was absolutely superb, but then you know what they say about art, one mans Rembrandt is another mans stick drawing.
I was really shocked when the guy came out with "Of course, I'd let the whole army **** you"
I was expecting a lot of olden style speak, then that came out.![]()
The ugly criticism is just based on how I imagined them after the books descriptions, not ugly so much as not what I expected them to be.
I think I expected Cersei to be stunning but carry herself with a sort of haughty disdain which cones across strongly in the books but very little on the tv.
Sansa I just didn't find attractive despite her being described so, that of course is purely subjective.
Caetlyn didn't look regal or Cary herself as well as the books describe, she came across as a country bumpkin type of noble which was never said in the books.
Anyway I'm just hyper critical as I always am of book to tv adaptions as I have an image in my head of what I expect. Will keep watching and if IRS half as good as books it will be a good watch.
The scene in the whorehouse with Tyrion when they arrive at Winterfell is an addition I think, but I can see why they did it. Some of the nudity was a little gratuitous though imo.
How did people like this show. The acting was diabolical, the cast was atrocious, the props were terrible (as I said to someone else, the dead direwolf looked like someone from props stole their daughters stuffed toy and covered it with tomato ketchup), and what the hell was that dancing scene with Bran. You do not jig along rooftops like a wooden puppet. I nearly rage quited at that point, but tried to give it a bit more time. Alas, it was not given much more, as ALT and F4 were pressed soon after. An awful shame, as A Song of Ice and Fire is one of my favourite books. This show really should have had "Starz" at the beginning, and not "HBO", as it was in no way comparable in standards to any other of their finer stuff, and reminded me of that terrible Canadian rendition of "Ben Hur" in terms of quality. Still. We have another notch in the "We can't seem to make good Fantasy shows" string with this. I am honestly surprised to see so many people enjoying such garbage.
