I agree with a lot of the critisism, I think a couple of major character deaths would have distracted from a lot of the flaws you can find on reflection.

There were many missed opportunities IMO Grey Worm should have died. It feels like too many characters were kept alive to allow for couples to have a happy ending.

Samwell definitely should have, I literally have no idea how he survived.

I don't think my expectations are higher, in fact I'm looking forward to the end of GOT, the series has had a noticeable drop in quality past two series. Instead of a political drama/thriller it seems more like your brainless summer action flick.

Don't get the outrage over "plot armor" and lack of significant deaths. I'm fine without big characters dying just for the sake of realism and without really furthering the story. It would get really monotonous watching epic death scene after epic death scene for 90 minutes as obviously each death requires enough time to do it justice. That said, they did overdo the shots of insurmountable odds being overcome again and again.

So to recap, you don't know why people didn't like the plot armor, but then you think the plot armor was a little much. Okay...

That was fantastic TV and looked more like film in its scale and execution then anything produced so far for the small screen.
The music at the end was excellent in particular as the NK seemed to be about to win. I loved that musical cue, where Bran looked passed the NK (knowing Arya was coming) reflecting the sudden change in the outcome of the confrontation.

This was another big step towards total redemption for Jamie for me. To have the courage and integrity to risk it all in fighting for the living with people who have always been enemies against insurmountable odds with only one hand was truly heroic. He could easily have just bowed to Cersei and let the others get on with it, while sitting in comfy cosy Kings Landing.

It will be very interesting to see where his story arc goes now. Will he return to Cersei, or will he fight for Dany?

Thought it was average at best. Stunning production values but the writing is as bad as it's ever been in the show. Just utter toss most of the time.

Carrying his head in one hand.

The thing that really cheeses me off is how did the the survivors (Jamie, Brienne, etc.), well, survive, considering the waves of wraiths coming at them. It's almost comical.

Because this show doesn't have to make sense to it's audience anymore. Why have well thought out, realistic character struggles when you can just have a big CGI battle for an hour?

IMO, Jamie will die (probably saving Brienne), then Arya will use his face to get close to Cersei and kill her.

Perhaps I could even see the following.... Bronn comes along, Brienne thinks that he is going to kill Jamie (he isn't) , Bronn defends himself by firing at Brienne, Jamie pushes her aside or steps in front and takes the shot instead. Bronn is devastated and joins them, sacrificing himself later on to save Tyrion. Arya takes Jamies face to get close to Cersei while The Hound distracts The Mountain, and kills Cersei.

I didn't mind the episode but there was no reason for it being so long. They could have made it a normal episode and cut some of the battle time out, it was stupid for the main characters to survive so long on their own and would have been more realistic if they weren't fighting for so long. As for Arya killing the NK, I thought it was done well. The prompting from the red witch, the speed past the white walkers causing his hair to flutter, and the knife to the gut. She is a face changing assasin after all, she used her training well. However, I would have liked some non-verbal communication between Bran and the NK, perhaps a tiny smile, or a small shake of the head from Bran, or he simply looks away just before Ayra appears, and the NK responds with the smallest look of puzzlement. But I'm not a script writer, so perhaps that wouldn't work.

Agree with others regarding:
The picture quality being very poor (Sky Atlantic).
The battle tactics and lack of fires around the grounds being plain stupid.
The lack of White Walkers in the battle was disappointing
Main characters seemingly surviving for ages far too long on their own against the hordes
Theon charge a silly end for a good character

It really has gone downhill since the writers haven't had the books to work from. I'm not particularly looking forward to the last few episodes, I just want to know who ends up on the throne. Either Sansa and Tyrion, or Gendry I hope, and just not Dany or Cersei.

I think he is surprised at the objection to the plot armour as a principle, but accepts that the implementation chosen by he film makers challenged the conventional suspension of disbelief. Not all of these great fighters could be expected to survive the apparent insurmountable odds they were facing when Jon ran past each of them.

That face thing that Arya does. is it just the face? If so, how do people not notice the physical difference? Jamie is a lot bigger than Arya, I'm sure Cersei would notice the difference, seeing as how intimately she knew him lol.

I would assume that the lack of penis would be a bit of a giveaway.

Had a girl at work just fall out with me as I told her that generally there were a lot of things wrong with the episode, despite saying that overall I really enjoyed it and pointed out a lot of moments I loved. Her comment was "maybe there's something wrong with you!"

Sorry, I spent close to a decade watching the show and reading the books and expected a better pay off with the Night King. I hope for some exposition into motivations of the NK from "rain bran" in the final few episodes.

We've seen faceless men change size and sex already.

Quite honestly she just sounds like a casual viewer who is embracing GoT because it's the trend to love/watch it and be part of the social echo chamber. I'd make no effort to try to qualify your views. I have told several people today why I thought it was a trash episode and a complete let down in terms of the NK climax.

Seems like there is a lot talk about how it may end up not being the end of the NK though. We will see. I am hoping there is a lot more to come but I have feeling that is the NK stuff wrapped up now.

Its obviously something more than just the face, she seems to also take on their physical size and also, as we saw with Frey, the voice too. Don't ask me how...magic stuff I assume.

She was quite a vocal anti-GOT'er on FB until about season 6 when she binged it and exclaimed she was shocked how good it is.

This episode is so divisive, it's as if you're not allowed to like some of it and dislike other parts. Everyone seems to generally be love/hate with no middle ground. As I said, I liked it, despite the flaws. I desperately seek some more expanded closure on the NK though.

I bet she doesn't even know who Hot Pie is.

This seems to be the internet these days :(.
