She couldn't see that there is a difference between freeing somewhere, and burning it and it's inhabitants to the ground.

She never could which is why I'm surprised some people say she all of a sudden went mad, she's always been mad, it just slowly manifested itself the total carnage type of mad that was bubbling underneath her tyrannic character.

Looking at that list, go watch Band of Brothers and The Expanse and you've got 2 more to add to the list then and maybe Boardwalk Empire too while you're at it :)

Yeah I forgot about BOB....BB my number one slot followed by Band of Brothers.....The pacific was poor and not worth watching imo...

Did anybody each year have the same niggle as me when the shows came on around april may time. I always saw game of thrones as a dark winter program and would have preferred it to come out each year in November or January (ie any of the winter months) could understand them not wanting December.

But each year when the weather was getting better and the brighter nights have turned up pretty much. Game of thrones then came out.

Already seen Band of Brothers got it on DVD back in the day DVD was all the rage. Seen Boardwalk Empire too and it was good I should have added it to the list but forgot. In fact it was really good on recollection.

There are quite a lot of world war 2 movies and series though which are all very good. It's one of my favourite movie genres.

Without Jon being brought back, they wouldn’t have had any army against the night king. Also, he did kill Danny. Pretty relevant I think?

If Jon wasn't brought back, the Night King wouldn't have acquired the dragon needed to breach the wall, therefore the battle never would have happened. Dany would not have lost any of her dragons, and she wouldn't have been tricked by Cersei during that meeting because the meeting with the wight wouldn't have gone ahead since it was Jon's stupid idea in the first place. She might have ended up a bit less mad without the loss of her dragons plus best friends.

All of it pointless. :p

Lord of Light works in mysterious ways :p
Given that the Lord of Light seems quite partial to folk being burned alive, Dany ought to be right at the top of his Christmas card list. There was nothing wrong with her that a few prayers couldn't sort out. I mean, they brought Jon back after, what, days?

Maybe that's what the Red Witch was doing in Essos... setting up an ER room for Dany and a landing pad for Drogon. At series 7 speeds he'd have been there in about half a day; she'd still be fresh.

What on earth has turned Arya into Christopher Columbus?

Sequel? Except ISTR Maisie Williams saying somewhere she was taking a break from acting after GOT. Of course if it happened, even stranger if she passed through a portal and ended up in modern day America, or in Westworld where the whole saga is revealed to have been a bit of android/synth role-play.

:)

So true, where on earth did the whole voyage thing come from? It screamed spin off.

Yeh. That was a horribly awkward scene.

Suddenly there is undiscovered land and Arya is Christopher Columbus.

A spin off based on that would be awful. She isn't that interesting a character.

I thought it made quite a lot of sense. Arya has no place in Westeros. She went East, learnt the ways of the Faceless Men and then rejected them. She needs somewhere new, and going West seems like a way of seeking that.

That was disappointing. Kind of enjoyed the first couple of episodes of season 8, but then it lost the plot. The ending just did live up to expectations.

I would rather seen Cercei lose her head like Ed did and Deny to step down and let Jon take the throne. Could go into detail about how this could be done, but pointless.

In the end Jon went north, the dragon went east, Arya went west and the show went south :(

Mate - now that isn't falling into the general bashing of the show is it?

One thing I don't understand is that killing Dany should have automatically made Jon the king, just like the death of every other king/queen automatically made the next one in line the king/queen. His family should then have gone to King's Landing demanding the release of their king or face the wrath of the remaining Northmen who would almost certainly have rallied behind Jon (they loved him and clearly never supported Dany). Instead none of this happens and he is stripped of everything and banished.

Even if ultimately Jon didn't want it, he still would have been king the moment he stuck that blade in her. The throne was his to abdicate but he didn't even get a choice.
