Winter Transfer Window 22/23

Looking good, I have been told by someone close to the club that the Varela deal is as good as done. This is the beginning of the ashworth magic, Fresneda and Varela. Just look at Brighton have brought in.
Great to see Kuol heading to Hearts. Should be easy enough to follow his progress. He didn't seem that out of his depth at the world cup for the limited number of game time he got.

Martínez pulled off a brilliant save to stop his last gasp effort.

The kid seems to be living up his transfer to the Toon and his whole family joining in on the act.

I think West Ham will be willing sellers this summer. He's made it clear he wants to leave and he'll have 2 years left on his deal meaning it's the last chance for them to get big money for him. I suspect he's Chelsea bound though.

he's said many times he wants to be playing in champs league

Rice is just a slightly better version of McTominay, a bit of a nothing player. Wouldn't want him, especially for the figures being spoken about...

You can’t say Chelsea are very likely to consistently qualify now with a resurgent Arsenal, Newcastle and Man U. Liverpool will improve too. Chelsea are a shambles under this owner.
You cannot say any of those sides are more likely either Rob. Declan Rice isn't (unless he's mad) going to make a decision that will possibly shape the rest of his career based on 1 season. He wants to play in the CL, presumably for more than 1 season, in which case of the sides he's been linked with Chelsea are as likely as any to offer him that on a regular basis as any other club.

He should ask Danny Drinkwater for advice about club hopping chasing CL and medals. :D Not that I'm equating Rice to DD but a move to a big-squad club doesn't guarantee you game time or success.

Sometimes it's better to stay a big fish in a slightly smaller pond, or at least to consider very carefully if you will thrive in the bigger pond before you take the plunge.

I think he's massively underrated by a lot of people. He defends brilliantly (far better positionally than McTominay), uses the ball well, can go past people, can pass, and has a goal in him. He's got it in him to be the best around in that role.

Only two players in the league that had +20 in defensive stats last season. Duel, tackles interceptions etc.

Him and Jolinton

The fact people have previously been talking about a £100m transfer fee suggests he's pretty well rated in general. He's not bad, but I'm not a huge fan personally.
