Personally not a fan of Weghorst, but he does seem to fit a similar profile to what ETH has liked in the past. We're going to be limited for options if we're not giving ETH any money for a striker so this is probably the best we can do for the next 6 months. Just hope it doesn't cost us top 4.

He makes sense and has been 1 in 2 everywhere he has gone before Burnley. He has 8 in 16 in Turkey and scored two goals in the world cup. He is already made and just at that age where he is at his prime and looks in form. It does seem a very logical choice for a 6 month loan that should be relatively cheap.

I would hazard a guess that Newcastle will be playing in one of the European competitions next season and we are clearly not ready.

Newcastle need a Forward (first team/flexible cover)CB(prospect), CM/DM (First team) and a RB.(prospect)

Forward - Thuram will do. Like Isak can play across the front 3.

Thuram/Isak/Wilson/ASM/Miggy. Should give enough up front for cover and to change things about when needed.

Jolinton has been covering ASM all season and has been effective but I would prefer him to drop back into the middle. (Wood can come on and take a penalty if needed lol)

CM/DM Straight into the first team or there abouts. We are woefully short here and it sounding like Shevley might not ever kick a ball for us again. Contract and injuries.

New player to join Brunno and Jolinton. Willock and Longstaff are good enough to sit on the bench and or rotation.

We are blessed atm in defence but long term replacements for Schar and Trippier is needed.

Lewis, Murphy, Frasier, Richie and Manquillo need sold. These players should not be near the first team they are championship players at best.

Two good transfers would make a world of difference for the toon.

Weghorst might actually be a shrewd signing. He's pretty much 1 in 2 at all his previous clubs since 2016, with the exception of Burnley, and as a result most people don't really rate him. Burnley were pretty rubbish though while he was there.

He's very much a different profile of player to what we have, a physical yet mobile striker who presses very well and can link play. It could just be that he knits things together quite nicely, Martial hasn't been great lately and will no doubt be injured again soon. I'm also not sure I'd even call Martial a proper striker, so we don't even have one at present.

Ultimately it's a minimal risk, and the club have effectively got a transfer embargo in place now due to the hopefully impending sale - so options are very limited.

Rice is just a slightly better version of McTominay, a bit of a nothing player. Wouldn't want him, especially for the figures being spoken about...
I'm sure I saw something that said he has the best stats for that position this season?

Two long term targets that links never went away.

Doubt it but thats some window if that gets pulled off buts that 80m+ worth of talent.

Maddison out for at least 10 days with a injury thats not been fully explained. Wonder if he will play for LCFC again.
Think it's obvious he wants a move to Newcastle but would Leicester take a chance in benching him because of refusal to sign a contract?

Is he injury prone?
