So we are signing Trossard for less than Shakhtar have *cough* 'donated' from the Mudryk transfer?

This seems a smart signing. Prem-proven and little adjustment required, has the technical ability to slot into the squad and offers coverage across all three of the forward positions, either directly or by his presence. Gives us some of what Smith-Rowe offers, which could be another positive given his ongoing injury travails. At 28 last month, Trossard has a great age profile for this current squad.

It also leaves a good chunk of money to spend elsewhere, if we are looking to pivot for Rice in the summer.

Consistency perhaps a weak point. Overall though, I like this deal a lot. Less exciting than a 'Mudryk' marquee signing, but a far safer bet at this stage of a promising season.

Arsenal got a new CB as backup (20mil), Polish international Jakub Kiwior who I've never heard of. Need a decent backup for DM now and someone who can play up front.

I like the versatility arteta and edu go for all our signings lately can play various different positions

Trossard all across the front 3
Kiwior cb/cdm
Jesus front 3
Zinchenko wb/winger cm/cdm
Tomi all across the back 4

Hes turned white back into a rb but hes obviously brilliant cb cover also

White for me has been the silent hero this season so far for us i really like his link up play and runs past saka aswell

I'm undecided about Troussard, in the modern market the pricetag isn't that horrendous for a player coming from a PL club but obviously we all know the reason he's leaving is he's fallen out with the manager due to leaving training early, with Arteta's track record for discipline that's something to keep an eye on. I guess it helps that Guendouzi has moved on or that could've been another flash point.
It also raises some questions about Pepe's future at the club, he's got another year left when he returns from loan but potentially this might push him further down the pecking order and you don't really want your £72m man restricted to the domestic cup competitions. Might be best to cash in during the summer.

I guess his versatility helps, part of me was thinking right now would Danny Ings not have been a better option for 70% of the price to take some of the load off Nketiah but obviously he's a bit older (so very much a short-term move) and less able to fill in for others than Troussard so would be kinda 'redundant' when Jesus is fit again (what's the ETA, Easter Sunday?).
