Jorghino is a shrewd loan imo. Arsenal have been lucky with injuries this season. (I guess a season without Europe and a small cup run helps). He can more than step up if Party gets injured. He is also a winner which helps with the mentality of the squad.

It’s not a loan, it’s a £12m permanent deal

Transfermarkt estimate it at around £430m before Enzo. Based on an average contract length of 6 years and with approx half the spending coming in January, from an amortisation pov (the expense that matters re FFP) even including the £110m(ish) on Fernandez, these signings will cost Chelsea circa £60m on this years accounts.

Ignoring any other sales Chelsea have made this season, if Chelsea shift Connor Gallagher for the reported £40m fee that's being talked about, Chelsea will make a profit on his sale of £40m on this seasons accounts. So when people ask how can Chelsea spend all this and comply with FFP, this is how.

But what if Chelsea are only paid 5m and not the full 40m? So it's spread out over more than one season? Or is that 'ok' in accounting?

I was looking forward to seeing how Everton wasted the Gordon money but it seems no ****** wants to join them, I’m not sure which is funnier seeing them waste money or seeing them unable to spend it.

For clarity, are you asking whether paying the £40m fee in installments changes anything? If so, no. Whether buying or selling, payment terms have no influence on how the fee is accounted for. Whether a club only received 10% or 100% of the fee up front, from an accounting point of view the full profit (or loss if they're sold below their book value) is accounted for on that years accounts.

Gotcha, thanks!
