Winter Transfer Window 22/23

Sorry but you're completely wrong. When he says 2020, he's referring to the year end in 2020 which in Liverpool's case in the end of May - therefore the transfers of Jota, Thiago and Tsimikas aren't included.

As I explained above, these are the actual numbers of what the club spent or committed to spending on transfers, not the installments paid. I appreciate you're not an accountant which is why I suggested reading SwissRamble's analysis as he breaks it down in a more simple way for people to read and understand.

Fair enough, he's not clear but I take your word for it that it's what he means.

You have to read the thread as a whole and it will be clearer. If you look back in that thread he also provides detail on the installments paid within that year so you can then separate that from transfers made in that year. Using the year end May 2020 as an example, although the club had a net transfer spend (for transfers in that season) of £0, the club physically paid out £90m net on historical installments paid/received.

Leicester are not going down.

Everton
Forest
Bournemouth
Southampton
Wolves

Are all more likely.

I hope you're right, but have you seen them recently? Lots of possession in the opponent's half but a shocking inability to convert anything. If they find their pre WC form again they will stay up, but I have a suspicion that form was inspired by WC ambitions, so I'm not holding my breath

You have scored 26 goals. All the teams around you have scored teens or close to single digits. They will end up mid table by the season end.

Fingers crossed!

Do you want to amend your predictions and cash-out early on that prediction Adam?

I still think Leicester might escape
Anything is possible. Probable though? I believe this is what Mark Chapman would refer to as "squeaky-bum time". The run-out is not great compared to some other teams down in the dog fight.

LCFC vs
Man City (a)
Wolves (h)
Leeds (a)
Everton (h)
Fulham (a)
Liverpool (h)
Newcastle (a)
West Ham (h)

From a quick comparison that is probably better than Forest's list which includes Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, similar with Leeds, but Southampton and Everton have slightly easier schedules on paper anyway.

8 games. Writing off Man City, Liverpool and Newcastle as likely losses that leaves 15 possible points, but against teams that are either doing well or sorting themselves out so no longer all over the shop as they were earlier in the season. I expect a few draws at best and wouldn't be surprised at some losses in those too. They have to beat Wolves, Leeds and Everton to have a chance.

I mean I wouldn't bet on us being them, more chance of a chocolate fire guard working

I've a good feeling that relegation this season is going to come down to goal difference and in that regard, if I was Bournemouth or Forest , I'd be very concerned right now.

So Bobby Firmino has agreed to join Barca at the end of the season. I cant begrudge him that decision, he has been a phenomenal servant to the club and will long be remembered by the fans. I REALLY hope that he gets a proper send off in the final home match

Me too. I do worry though that they won't be able to register him! It's estimated they could be above the League's wage cap by as much as €100-200m next season! They haven't been able to register Gavi as a senior player either as they don't have the spare wage capacity and he's still on his Youth contract. League rules stipulate that players signing their first senior contract are, in effect, new signings so need to be registered with the League. They're over budget this season as it stands and running out of Levers they can pull. If Gavi isn't signed as a Senior player by the end of June he becomes a free agent. This is also why any talk of Messi going back to Barca is utter nonsense as well unless he agrees to play for free.

Evan Ferguson has signed a new contract at Brighton, so hopefully he can keep improving and get us some goals for at least another season.

Agreed Leicester have Everton and Westham at home. Both 6 pointers. I fancy them to get something against Fulham as well.

Saying that there are so many 6 pointers down there it could be anyone.

Bournemouth have Southampton, Leeds and Everton. They could easily be safe or flipped and straight back down there!

Forest are the ones I worry about as I cannot see where they are going to get the points needed to stay up. I think the Saints are gone though.

Why are people discussing who will be relegated in a transfer thread?
because who goes down affects who might get sold. If Leicester go down Maddison and Barnes will be moving asap, Tielemans will not renew. Cags is already going thanks to Bodgers. Vardy will retire or head to MLS etc. If Leicester drop I see them dropping again and having to rebuild from the ground-up just like a few seasons back.

If Forest drop, given their expenditure, WTF happens to them? Lingard in the championship. LOL

Bobby or any player in fact wanting barca right now is baffling there a mess in how there run
You get to play off of one of the best strikers in the last 10 years, and there are strong rumours Messi will come, Barcelona is a nice city to live in.

Despite the mess Barcelona will win La Liga this year, and I am sure the club has given reassurances on actually being paid the amount he agreed to.

Barcas reassurances aren't very reassuring these days though.

Theres no real issue on the pitch, the issues are entirely financial and off the pitch. The fact they are trying to re-sign Messi is proof that they are still a mess. Hes not worth anything like the amount they would end up paying him.

But you may not get paid, or registered or be sold off in 12 months so they can register another player when they have no plan again.

Yeah sounds fab.
