Wolfenstein: The New Order

I really like it so far. the graphics are pretty good, the combat feels very good with meaty guns and and cool stealth kills. The shooting feels very responsive and ive had some very good dual wielding fun. You can stealth a lot of it so far and silenty kill the officers preventing alarms going off. Which I think pays off at one point as you can get in a secret room if the alarm didn't go off.
I managed to get to the bit where the game actually starts, you will know what I mean ;) and I have to say im looking forward to playing it again.
Depending on your play stile you get perks, like if you stealth kill a lot I can throw knifes etc

Interesting thing I've just noticed for Nvidia users.

The game doesn't have a geforce experience profile yet, but the latest drivers have a wolfenstein profile with them that forces SLI OFF and forces max performance on. The game also has a 60fps lock it seems, but I have no input lag at all as it works flawlessly with my gsync display thankfully.

Not sure if accurate but there is said to be a Nvidia driver for it tomorrow (guess that is Tuesday).

Well I've played for nearly 4 hours and I can safely say I'm enjoying the game immensely. The combat is more varied then I first thought as theres unlocks to be had for getting kills in different ways (not like bulletstorm mind!) The silenced pistol is superb and allows proper stealth play in pretty much every level I've been on so far, which is a bonus.

The cutting torch thing is a nice touch, especially when you can burn through mesh fences etc with it. You really do get rewarded for exploring as well which I like, as I've found numerous weapon and armour upgrades by checking every nook and cranny.

The storyline itself is pretty decent and the locations are nicely varied. The weird german couple are seriously creepy, especially when you realise the woman is very old and the guy is very young lol. I also didn't realise that the game had decisions that actually influence the storyline. Sure its not RPG quality, but its a nice addition and adds replayability.

Oh and theres NO QTEs at all :D :D :D

Well what do ya know im enjoying it also hahaha
thought it was going to be a flop.
---------------------------------------------

i just loved the mechanical dogs, killing one of those with your knife is very entertaining and very brutal *LOVED IT* :D pps i like dogs :D

though there are some issues with my card and this game.
there is screen tairing even with vsync enabled in game.
game is locked to 60fps but i dont mind it.. when the game is maxed out @3440x1440 it looks great though i wish there was some form of AA i dont think this game has AA enabled then again i didnt see a AA setting in the menus come to think of it.
and finally with the game maxed out i get drops from 60-40 mostly 60 but i do notice the drops, this game has no crossfire profile so so basiclly with my R9 295X2 im running at max R290x speeds.
we need a proper profile cause there is none, the game looks very good and i will enjoy it even more with AA and no screen tairing and proper crossfire support.

the cutscenes are also good but there not great graphics wise..

over all i am enjoying it.

FPS command?

I have EVGA Precision installed for now and it cannot do 64bit games till update in Sep and Fraps as is not working as game will not load with it running and will crash game if you load game then Fraps.

Assume you are using MSI AB?

Did those of you who signed up to get access to Doom 4 get any confirmation emails back?

Yep got this response.. "Thank you for signing up for the DOOM Beta.

This is confirmation that you have entered a valid DOOM Beta code and your email address is in our records.

When the DOOM beta is about to begin, you will receive further instructions at this email address with next steps on how to access the beta."

I dropped the map cache size to 4096 and that has solved the 1fps bug that happens when I die and the section reloads. Everything else on Ultra preset.

I am enjoying the game though, that evil Doctor is so so sinister the way he stares! I like the seamless cutscene and game segments and the dialogue between your comrades is cool too.

I feel the gun sounds are weak and feel weaker than they do in other games but they're fun to use like in classic shooters so that is all OK.

Graphically it's nice but I don't think the visuals command the requirements they do considering games like Crysis look better and run about the same. This game looks like an id game though from the style of the textures. It's classically a Doom inspired game visually!
