hahaha i spent ages (and ages and ages) trying to fight the robots in the train station...
So did most of us
You may not have seen what I posted already have you ?
Turn off all your background crap your running out of system memory, it's not a very efficient variant of id Tech 5 engine, the GFX card was using 2.5GB and after reloads most of the 8GB system (I do not run a page file) with raided SSD's and reloads were slow maybe 8 secs or so so that tells me there is an S load of data getting written to memory
i have no background crap running, i game Offline, at least i dont think i've got anything running.
they say this :- if you have AMD/ATI graphic cards, the game may face crashes, stuck, loading problem and especially low FPS. All the issues belong to AMD Catalyst software. To fix this issue, I recommend that, un-install the current Catalyst from Control Panel. Now restart the machine, download the Catalyst 14.4 (the download link is above) install and then run the game. Don’t forget to apply Day 1 patch too.
but i've already done this, i only have 8gb Vengeance so i doubt this is enough, i might get more memory from here next week, let me know if this will help............thanks !
wow this game crashes like mad, at the end of every level and for every movie cut scene, it also crashes every time you die, the screen just goes black and stays black.
i expect there will be a patch to fix these crashes, because it must have crashed at least 40 times in 2 hours gaming, but at least you know EXACTLY when it's going to crash, because it never crashes whilst you're gaming; only if you die or whilst watching those cut scenes.
the settings i have are medium to high, but nothing on Ultra, my rig handles this game easily..... and it still looks great, there's load of stuff in that menu that you dont need on Max anyway; so there you go.
verdict :- great game, shame about all the crashes, because it's like playing Painkiller from 8 years ago....CRASH...CRASH....CRASH...CRASH
Weird. Not had a single crash on the game yet.
I was about to post this EXACT thing as well. The fact that you can resume at the point where you died/completed the level is the only saving grace (excuse the pun) otherwise I would have given up with it and binned it like I have some other titles in the past.
Reported it to Bethesda and they said it was my graphics drivers that were out of date (yea, by a week or two!) so will give that a go later and see if that sorts it.
About to do a full rebuild tonight as well due to new SSD arriving so that will be the first thing I try.
Weird. Not had a single crash on the game yet.
Not had any crashes here so far except when I tried to use scroll wheel in the graphics options menu :S
Sometimes after dying though - especially when killed by a higher end/boss enemy - it will take forever to reload.
Running xfire 7970s on CCC14.4 - only issue I have is stutter on the dev/publisher animations when the game boots.
Game's stable for me but the popping, frame rate and general performance is awful.
Just completed it and I thought it was brilliant, it's going to take some beating to miss out on GOTY for me. Then again I've not played Botch Dogs yet.
